We’re living in a pivotal era—caught between global constraints and unprecedented opportunity. Across every industry, labor shortages, disrupted supply chains, and soaring demand are testing the limits of what’s possible. At Autodesk, we see this moment not as a challenge, but as a chance to reimagine how the world is designed and built.
Our goal is to unlock new capacity and create meaningful impact—whether that’s providing housing for billions, building infrastructure that lasts generations, developing products that push boundaries, or crafting immersive digital experiences. And we aim to achieve all of this using fewer resources than ever before.
At Autodesk University 2025, we’re unveiling tools and workflows that are fully connected across the cloud, bringing together people, processes, and data throughout the entire lifecycle of a project. These tools work with the platforms customers already know—so change doesn’t come with disruption.
Forma is now the first complete cloud-based solution designed specifically for the architecture, engineering, construction, and operations (AECO) industry. It links every phase of a project—from planning and design to construction and beyond—into one seamless workflow.
As part of a broader transformation, Autodesk has strengthened its cloud-based design and construction ecosystem by integrating Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) directly into Forma. This integration enhances collaboration between design and construction teams, enabling a smoother and more connected workflow.
In addition, Autodesk Docs has evolved into Forma Data Management, improving the flow of information across every stage of a project. With Forma Connected Clients, teams can now access and use detailed project data within their existing desktop tools, seamlessly bridging the gap between cloud and on-premise environments.
Expanding the platform further, Autodesk has introduced Forma Building Design, a new solution tailored for advanced building projects. This addition supports more complex design needs and opens up the platform to a wider range of industries and project phases. A standout example of Forma in action can be seen at Denver International Airport, where it was used alongside tools like Revit, Civil 3D, and Tandem. Despite being one of the busiest airports in the U.S., the team was able to carry out major renovations without shutting down operations—thanks to a centralized system used by over 400 contractors and the use of digital twins to turn complex data into actionable insights.
In the world of design and manufacturing, Fusion continues to transform how teams operate by offering a unified environment for product development. This all-in-one platform streamlines collaboration and accelerates timelines, enabling teams to move from concept to production more efficiently. The recent launch of the Vault–Fusion Manage Connector allows for seamless integration between desktop-based product management tools and Fusion, ensuring consistency and accuracy throughout the entire development process.
Fusion also introduces smart features that simplify critical stages of the design workflow. Tools like AutoConstrain and intuitive conceptual design capabilities help teams get started faster, make refinements with ease, and bring products to market more quickly. These advancements not only improve efficiency but also empower teams—large and small—to innovate with greater speed and precision.
For example, SwissDrones used Fusion to speed up the development of their twin-rotor aerial vehicles. Working with the efficiency of a large aerospace firm but at the pace of a startup, they relied on cloud-based tools to reduce waste, collaborate across teams, and pivot quickly when project requirements changed.
In film, television, and animation, creators are using Autodesk solutions to save time and focus on their craft. The Flow Studio platform allows artists to animate, light, and composite with greater speed, while new features in Maya—like MotionMaker and Face Animator—help breathe life into characters in less time.
Studios such as Industrial Light & Magic, Boxel, and Rising Sun Pictures are already using these tools to meet demanding schedules without sacrificing quality. These advancements prove that creative control stays firmly in the hands of artists—technology simply makes it easier to bring their ideas to life.
For over ten years, Autodesk has been building the technical foundation to support these advances at scale. From context-aware design tools to connected systems that understand geometry and project behavior, we’ve developed technologies that help users work faster, with greater clarity and precision.
In platforms like Forma and Fusion, we’ve introduced built-in features that help teams explore different options, refine their plans, and make more confident decisions—whether they’re designing a skyscraper, building an electric vehicle, or producing the next blockbuster film.
