HCLSoftware, the software business unit of HCLTech, has announced its intention to acquire Jaspersoft, an embedded analytics and reporting platform business from Cloud Software Group. The acquisition is aimed at strengthening HCLSoftware’s Data & AI division (Actian) by expanding its capabilities in business intelligence, reporting, and analytics.

Actian has experienced strong growth over the past five years, driven by rising enterprise demand for metadata management, data governance, and data catalog solutions. The addition of Jaspersoft is expected to enhance Actian’s value proposition by enabling a comprehensive, end-to-end data management and analytics experience, while also expanding reach through Jaspersoft’s global developer community of data engineers and architects.

Jaspersoft is widely recognized for its pixel-perfect reporting and embedded analytics capabilities, making it a preferred solution for highly regulated industries such as government, banking, and financial services. The platform enables organizations to build interactive dashboards, advanced visualizations, and consistent, high-volume reports embedded directly into applications.

Marc Potter, CEO of Actian and Portfolio General Manager of HCLSoftware’s Data & AI division, stated that as generative AI adoption accelerates, customers are seeking analytics solutions that provide consistency, flexibility, and ownership of the analytics experience. The integration of Jaspersoft will allow Actian to deliver AI-enabled embedded analytics with strong architectural flexibility.

Steven Schneider, General Manager of the Analytics business unit at Cloud Software Group, noted that Jaspersoft has earned strong customer trust globally and expressed confidence in HCLSoftware as a strategic long-term owner of the business. The transaction is expected to close within six months of signing.
