In the first half of 2025, India achieved record-breaking solar and wind power generation, cutting nearly 24 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions and significantly reducing coal dependency—marking a major step in the country’s transition to clean energy. Building on this momentum, GREW Solar, one of India’s fastest-growing solar PV manufacturers, unveiled its G12R High-Power Series ahead of REI Expo 2025, the nation’s premier renewable energy event. The launch reinforces India’s national target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and underscores GREW Solar’s role in advancing India’s global solar manufacturing ambitions.
Delivering up to 635 Wp, the G12R High-Power Series is optimized for utility-scale installations, offering a 6–8% reduction in total module count per MW, lower balance-of-system (BOS) costs, and improved logistics and installation timelines. With its enhanced mechanical strength and refined cell architecture, the series ensures 6–7% higher container power density and 1.5–3% more power output per square meter than standard TOPCon modules.
Dr Mohammad Rihan, Director General of the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), commended the development: “It’s inspiring to see Indian manufacturers like GREW Solar advancing our renewable energy vision. The G12R High-Power Series highlights how domestic companies are not only scaling production but also setting new technological and quality standards. Such initiatives are essential for achieving India’s 2047 energy independence goal and ensuring sustainable growth.”
Vinay Thadani, CEO & Director of GREW Solar, added: “Our G12R High-Power Series is engineered to meet the evolving needs of large-scale developers while contributing to India’s clean energy transition. As we progress toward 500 GW of renewable capacity by 2030 and energy independence by 2047, we are building a scalable and efficient manufacturing ecosystem rooted in innovation and reliability.”
Hardip Singh, COO of GREW Solar, emphasized operational excellence: “The G12R High-Power Series reflects the combined effort of our R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams. Our goal is to deliver modules that excel in both performance and durability, while continuously improving efficiency across every stage of production.”
GREW Solar currently operates a 6.5 GW PV module facility in Dudu (Jaipur) and is expanding its capacity to 11 GW, complemented by an 8 GW solar cell facility under development in Narmadapuram (Madhya Pradesh). Supported by a ₹300 crore funding round, the company aims to complete this large-scale expansion and R&D roadmap by 2026.
Founded in 2022 and backed by the 52-year manufacturing legacy of the Chiripal Group, GREW Solar has rapidly emerged as a key player in India’s renewable energy manufacturing landscape. In its first year, the company launched M10 modules up to 550 Wp and commissioned 1.2 GW of production in Dudu, Rajasthan. By 2025, it had scaled operations to 6.5 GW and is now on track to reach 11 GW of AI-powered, fully integrated module production capacity. Its Narmadapuram facility will add 8 GW of solar cell capacity by end-2026, enabling full backward integration and positioning GREW Solar among India’s most advanced clean energy manufacturers.
