Greaves Electric Mobility (GEM), the electric mobility arm of Greaves Cotton Limited, has announced its entry into Nepal through a strategic partnership with STC Auto Solution Private Limited. As part of its international expansion, the company has introduced its flagship electric scooter, Ampere Nexus, to address the growing demand for reliable electric two-wheelers in the region.

The Ampere Nexus has been engineered to perform across challenging road and climate conditions. The scooter is designed to handle steep gradients, uneven terrain, and high-altitude temperature variations commonly experienced in Nepal. Equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery, stable ride configuration, and strong torque delivery, the vehicle is intended to offer consistent performance in both urban traffic and hilly routes.

The model has already demonstrated its capabilities on demanding terrains, including a climb through Kolli Hills in South India, known for its sharp bends, and a run across the high-altitude Shipki La Pass. These trials helped validate its performance, durability, and safety in difficult environments, making it suitable for Nepal’s varied landscape.

The Nepal launch is part of Greaves Electric Mobility’s broader plan to expand its footprint in international markets. The company aims to support the shift toward cleaner transportation by offering practical electric mobility solutions tailored to local requirements.

Greaves Cotton Limited, the parent company, is a diversified engineering group with more than 165 years of operating history. Originally known for diesel engines, it has evolved into a provider of fuel-agnostic mobility solutions. Through business units in engineering, electric mobility, retail, finance, and technology, the group is building an integrated ecosystem connecting customers, partners, and service providers across the mobility value chain.

Greaves Electric Mobility has over 17 years of experience in electric vehicle design and manufacturing and serves both electric two-wheeler and three-wheeler markets. The company operates manufacturing plants in Hyderabad, Noida, and Ranipet and supports customers through more than 400 dealer touchpoints across India.

Its subsidiaries MLR Auto Limited and Bestway Agencies Private Limited further strengthen its distribution network. By entering Nepal with the Ampere Nexus, Greaves Electric Mobility aims to provide dependable electric transport options while contributing to regional efforts toward sustainable mobility and reduced emissions.
