Greaves Electric Mobility (GEML) has entered India’s top five electric two-wheeler manufacturers, supported by higher registrations and market share gains in September 2026. According to VAHAN data for September 1 to 9, shared on September 10, GEML recorded 2,645 electric two-wheeler registrations and secured a 4.6% market share. The company moved to the No. 5 position, ahead of Ola Electric, which recorded 2,607 units and a 4.5% market share during the same period.

GEML’s September registrations increased 66% from 1,597 units in August to 2,645 units during the first nine days of September. The company’s growth was higher than the overall electric two-wheeler market, which recorded a 33% increase over the comparable period to 57,505 units. The company also gained 0.9 percentage points in market share during the period, increasing its share from 3.7% in August to 4.6% in September.

The September performance follows a strong first quarter of FY27 for GEML. The company recorded 101% year-on-year growth in electric two-wheeler volumes during the quarter and reached a market share of 5.6% in June 2026. GEML said the performance reflects a sustained increase in volumes and market presence rather than a single-month improvement. The company is also focusing on improving the financial performance of its electric mobility business by reducing cash burn, increasing operating efficiencies and strengthening the underlying economics of its operations.

The company said customer acceptance of its “Built for Bharat” electric two-wheeler portfolio has supported its recent growth. GEML has continued to expand its product range in response to changing customer requirements. Its portfolio includes the Nexus EX+, Magnus Neo, Reo Vyb and Magnus GMax. The Magnus GMax was recognised as “Family Scooter of the Year”.

GEML is also expanding its retail and financing ecosystem while continuing to invest in technology and customer experience. The company said these initiatives are aimed at supporting wider market access and improving the ownership experience for electric two-wheeler customers.

The increase in registrations and market share comes amid rising competition in India’s electric two-wheeler market. GEML said its focus remains on increasing volumes while building a more sustainable and disciplined business. The company is working towards profitability through a combination of volume growth, operating efficiency and improved business economics. Its recent market performance, along with the first-quarter growth, has strengthened its position in the electric two-wheeler segment.
