Gradiant, a provider of advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions, has announced the appointment of Hari Prasad as Managing Director, India, along with five new design-build contracts across the semiconductor, printed circuit board (PCB) and solar manufacturing sectors. The company also plans to increase its India workforce by more than 40% this year as demand grows for water treatment solutions supporting India’s expanding manufacturing base.

Hari Prasad will lead Gradiant’s operations and growth across the semiconductor, data centre and energy sectors in India. He brings nearly 30 years of experience in water technology and has held senior positions across India, the Middle East and Africa. Before joining Gradiant, he served as General Manager, Industrial Water at Pentair.

The five new contracts cover chips, electronics and clean energy manufacturing. They include a repeat order from a global semiconductor manufacturer for the expansion of its fabrication facility. Under the contracts, Gradiant will provide ultrapure water, wastewater treatment and zero liquid discharge (ZLD) systems.

The systems are designed to support continuous manufacturing operations while helping customers meet India’s discharge standards. Gradiant said customers selected the company for its water recovery capabilities, ZLD performance and execution timelines.

The company will expand its India team across engineering, project execution, operations and digital functions. Recruitment will also support the Gradiant Engineering Center in Coimbatore, which works on projects for customers in India and international markets.

“India is fast becoming one of the most important places to build the AI supply chain, from chips to circuit boards to solar cells,” said Prakash Govindan, CEO of Gradiant. “When a chipmaker comes back to us for its next expansion, that is the strongest endorsement we can get. With Hari’s leadership and an engineering team in India that serves customers here and around the world, we are well placed to be the single accountable water partner for that build-out.”

Gradiant designs, builds and operates water treatment systems for industries including semiconductors, data centres, energy and other manufacturing sectors. As India expands semiconductor, electronics and renewable energy production, reliable water supplies and wastewater management are becoming important requirements for new industrial facilities. The company provides solutions covering water treatment, wastewater treatment, water reuse and ZLD. Its India operations support both domestic projects and global customers through engineering and project execution capabilities.
