Glenfarne Group, LLC has announced a $500 million investment in its Texas LNG export project, with the funding led by investment funds and accounts managed by HPS Investment Partners, part of BlackRock. The investment represents a significant milestone for the project as it advances toward its Final Investment Decision (FID) and accelerates development activities at the Port of Brownsville.

The funding, subject to customary closing conditions, will support ongoing development and early construction work for Texas LNG, one of the company’s flagship liquefied natural gas export terminals. The capital infusion strengthens the project’s financial position and reinforces investor confidence in its long-term growth prospects.

The announcement follows the recent issuance of a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) to engineering and construction firm Kiewit under the project’s executed lump-sum turnkey contract. The LNTP enables key pre-construction activities, including the placement of purchase orders for long-lead equipment, engineering work during the EPC phase, and geotechnical investigations required before full-scale construction begins.

According to Glenfarne, the latest investment is among the final milestones before the project reaches FID, bringing Texas LNG closer to full construction and commercial operations. “This investment underscores the strong execution readiness of Texas LNG and enables several strategic initiatives that are critical to maintaining project momentum,” said Vlad Bluzer, Co-President of Texas LNG and Partner at Glenfarne. “The funding allows us to move forward with essential equipment procurement and engineering activities while positioning the project for a successful Final Investment Decision.”

Texas LNG is being designed as one of the world’s lowest-emitting LNG export facilities by utilizing electric motor drive technology to reduce operational emissions. The project reflects Glenfarne’s strategy of combining energy infrastructure development with advanced technologies aimed at improving operational efficiency and environmental performance.

The Texas LNG terminal forms part of Glenfarne’s broader North American LNG portfolio, which includes permitted projects across Alaska, Louisiana, and Texas. Together, these developments represent a combined production capacity of 32.8 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), positioning the company among the leading developers of LNG infrastructure in North America.

Glenfarne Group is a privately held global developer, owner, and operator of energy infrastructure assets. Through its subsidiaries, the company manages a portfolio of approximately 60 energy assets spanning global LNG solutions, grid stability, and renewable energy. The latest investment further strengthens Glenfarne’s efforts to expand reliable energy infrastructure while supporting growing global demand for cleaner and more efficient LNG exports.
