Flux Power Holdings, Inc (NASDAQ: FLUX), a developer of lithium-ion energy storage systems and fleet intelligence technology, has announced three product developments covering battery safety, material handling equipment and connected fleet management. The additions include integrated gas detection for airport ground support equipment (GSE) batteries, two new S24 battery configurations and expanded SkyVOX tracking and charging alerts.
The developments are part of the company’s product expansion plans for fiscal 2027 and are intended to address requirements across material handling and airport operations. Flux Power is introducing integrated gas detection in its airport GSE battery range. The sensor continuously monitors conditions inside the battery and communicates with the battery management system (BMS). If a potential thermal event is detected, the BMS can alert a CAN-integrated vehicle and automatically shut down power.
For batteries fitted with SkyVOX telematics, the event can also be reported to the SkyEMS fleet management platform, providing operators with real-time information. The system was developed with a major airline customer and demonstrated at the company’s headquarters in Vista, California. Initial shipments are expected in the first quarter of calendar 2027, with a retrofit programme also planned for batteries already in service.
Mark Barmettler, Vice President of Engineering at Flux Power, said the system would provide airline operators with an additional layer of battery protection and visibility during ground operations. The company is also expanding its S-Series battery range with two S24 configurations. One is designed for forklifts with compact battery compartments and includes a new truck adapter and charger configuration developed with a national account customer. The second is a heavy-duty S24 version for walkie stackers, which is undergoing testing and qualification with a major original equipment manufacturer.
The new configurations will extend the company’s lithium-ion battery options to additional forklift models and equipment categories. The latest SkyVOX development provides battery location tracking and charging alerts. Fleet managers can locate connected batteries and identify units requiring charging, helping reduce equipment search time and avoid low battery levels during shifts.
External cellular and GPS antennas mounted outside the battery enclosure improve signal reception when telematics devices are installed deep inside steel truck compartments. Shipments are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of calendar 2026. Krishna Vanka, Chief Executive Officer of Flux Power, said the three developments addressed customer requirements in battery safety, fleet intelligence and equipment applications. He said the company would continue expanding its product pipeline through fiscal 2027.
Flux Power designs, manufactures and sells lithium-ion energy storage solutions for material handling and airport ground support equipment. Its battery systems include proprietary battery management technology and telemetry designed to support fleet operations and provide an alternative to conventional lead-acid and propane-based solutions.
