Marking its 45th anniversary, Finolex Pipes has strengthened its long-standing association with the Pandharpur Wari by expanding its support for devotees undertaking Maharashtra’s revered annual pilgrimage. The company, which has been associated with the Wari for more than three decades, is undertaking a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing the safety, comfort and well-being of lakhs of Warkaris while contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable pilgrimage.
As part of this year’s efforts, Finolex is distributing nearly five lakh essential items, including utility bags, rain ponchos and walking sticks, to help pilgrims during the nearly 250-kilometre journey to Pandharpur. The company has also mobilised its CSR arm, the Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF), to organise free medical camps at key locations along the route, offering healthcare consultations, medicines and preventive care to devotees throughout the pilgrimage.
The company has extended its support beyond the Warkaris by recognising the role of security and administrative personnel managing one of India’s largest religious gatherings. Thousands of police personnel deployed during the Wari are being provided rainwear, while members of the Pandharpur Police Quick Response Team have received specialised protective jackets. Finolex is also working with the Pandharpur Police Department and the Pandharpur Temple Committee to install information and alert signages that improve navigation and public awareness during the pilgrimage. In line with its sustainability initiatives, the company is undertaking a plantation drive in Pandharpur and installing waste bins at strategic locations to encourage better waste management and promote environmental responsibility throughout the event.
Commenting on the occasion, Prakash P Chhabria, Executive Chairman of Finolex Pipes, said the Pandharpur Wari represents values of faith, humility, perseverance and selfless service that have inspired generations. He noted that the company has grown alongside the people and farming communities of Maharashtra over the past 45 years and that its continued support for the Wari reflects gratitude towards the trust placed in the brand by these communities.
