Exide Industries Limited announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of FY26, reporting steady growth driven by strong demand across its core businesses and continued operational resilience amid global challenges. For Q4 FY26, the company recorded standalone revenue of ₹4,551 crore, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 9.4%. Profit before tax (PBT) rose significantly by 22.6%, supported by robust performance across automotive and industrial segments. Demand momentum remained strong, aided by improved affordability and favorable customer sentiment following GST 2.0 reforms.
The domestic business grew 12.5% year-on-year despite a sharp decline in the telecom segment, which continues to be impacted by the industry’s shift toward lithium-ion technologies. Automotive segments—including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers—delivered double-digit growth, while the Auto OEM business emerged as the fastest-growing vertical with over 25% growth and its highest-ever quarterly revenue.
Export performance remained under pressure due to geopolitical tensions and disruptions in global shipping routes. Additionally, the latter half of the quarter was affected by the ongoing West Asia conflict, which led to increased input costs, particularly for commodities such as LPG, plastics, and sulphuric acid. Currency depreciation further added to cost pressures.
Despite these headwinds, the company improved its EBITDA margin by nearly 50 basis points to 11.7%, supported by ongoing cost optimization initiatives. The balance sheet remained strong, with zero debt and healthy cash flow generation.
Investments in Exide Energy Solutions Limited (EESL) continued as planned, with ₹600 crore infused during the quarter, taking total FY26 investment to ₹1,500 crore. Cumulative investment in the project now stands at ₹4,802.23 crore. The lithium-ion cell manufacturing facility in Bengaluru is progressing well, with cylindrical cell lines expected to begin customer sampling by Q1 FY27 and prismatic lines to follow shortly.
Commenting on the performance, Avik Roy, MD & CEO, stated that strong macroeconomic conditions, including low inflation and positive market sentiment, supported demand across segments. He noted that while global disruptions posed challenges, the company remained focused on profitable growth, cost discipline, and strengthening customer relationships.
Exide continues to expand its product portfolio and manufacturing capabilities, reinforcing its leadership position in India. With exports spanning over 70 countries and ongoing advancements in lithium-ion technology, the company is well-positioned to support the evolving needs of electric mobility and energy storage markets.
