esmo Group, a global provider of semiconductor test solutions and industrial automation systems, is celebrating its 25th anniversary with the completion of three strategic facility expansions in Germany, China and Taiwan. The investments strengthen the company’s engineering, manufacturing and customer support capabilities as demand for advanced semiconductor technologies continues to grow worldwide.
Founded in 2001, esmo has evolved from a small engineering company delivering three manipulators in its first year into a global supplier serving customers in more than 70 countries. Today, the company employs around 285 people, generates annual revenues of approximately €60 million and manufactures more than 2,000 semiconductor manipulators each year. Through its two business divisions—esmo semicon and esmo automation—the company delivers semiconductor handling systems, automated test equipment solutions and specialised industrial automation technologies to customers across the global electronics industry.
The latest expansion programme reinforces esmo’s presence in three strategically important semiconductor regions. In Rosenheim, Germany, the company has commissioned a new facility adjacent to its existing production site. The building accommodates engineering, software development and administrative teams supporting advanced semiconductor test technologies, including applications for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. The facility also hosted esmo’s 25th anniversary open house, welcoming nearly 1,000 visitors to showcase its engineering capabilities and manufacturing operations.
In Shanghai, China, esmo has established a new manufacturing facility featuring dedicated production space and a cleanroom environment for automated test equipment and semiconductor prober solutions. The expansion is expected to enhance local manufacturing capacity, quality assurance and customer support in one of the world’s largest semiconductor markets.
The company has also strengthened its presence in Taiwan by joining a new shared engineering and business facility in Zhubei, established under parent company Accuron Industrial Technologies. The site brings together several Accuron portfolio companies, creating opportunities for greater collaboration and integrated support across the semiconductor value chain.
Commenting on the milestone, Andreas Rothstein, Chief Executive Officer of esmo AG, said, “Celebrating 25 years represents more than a business milestone. It reflects the trust our customers have placed in us over the years and our continued commitment to engineering excellence. These investments strengthen our ability to support customers globally while preparing the business for the next generation of semiconductor manufacturing technologies.”
