Enviro Infra Engineers Limited (EIEL), a national EPC company focused on water and wastewater infrastructure, has secured a new project under the Government of India’s AMRUT 2.0 programme. The contract has been awarded by the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited for the development of a comprehensive sewerage system and treatment facility in Aurangabad, Bihar.
The project will be executed on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis and includes the development of a 20 million litres per day (MLD) sewage treatment plant along with associated infrastructure and network systems required to support urban wastewater management. The scope of work covers the design and construction of the treatment facility along with related civil structures and treatment components. The plant will incorporate a SCADA-based monitoring and control system to ensure efficient process management and operational transparency.
In addition to the treatment plant, the contract also includes the construction of eight pumping stations, installation of approximately 5.4 kilometres of rising mains, and development of a 196-kilometre sewerage network across the project area. After the project is commissioned, Enviro Infra Engineers will operate and maintain the infrastructure for a period of five years.
Sanjay Jain, Chairman of Enviro Infra Engineers Limited, said the project marks an important milestone for the company and reflects the continued confidence of government authorities in its technical capabilities. “We are honoured to have been selected for this important infrastructure project,” Mr Jain said. “Our focus remains on delivering reliable and sustainable solutions that strengthen the country’s water management systems. We are committed to executing the project efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of engineering quality.”
Enviro Infra Engineers has built a strong presence in the water and wastewater infrastructure sector through projects executed for government authorities and public utilities across India. The company has more than 15 years of experience in the design and construction of water supply and wastewater treatment infrastructure.
Its portfolio includes sewage treatment plants (STPs), sewerage network projects and common effluent treatment plants (CETPs) developed for urban and industrial applications. A key strength of the company lies in its integrated project delivery capabilities. Enviro Infra Engineers maintains in-house teams responsible for engineering design, procurement and construction activities, allowing it to manage projects across the entire lifecycle.
The organization also has dedicated civil construction teams that handle structural works internally, reducing reliance on external contractors and enabling greater control over project execution timelines. For specialized tasks, the company collaborates with experienced consultants and industry experts to ensure projects comply with regulatory standards and technical guidelines set by government agencies.
The company’s services typically encompass the complete project cycle, beginning with engineering design and procurement of equipment and materials. This is followed by on-site construction, installation and commissioning of infrastructure.
Post-commissioning operations and maintenance form an integral part of many project contracts. Enviro Infra Engineers maintains dedicated operational teams responsible for monitoring plant performance and ensuring long-term reliability.
Projects such as the Aurangabad sewerage system contribute to the Government of India’s efforts to expand urban sanitation infrastructure and improve wastewater management across growing cities. By strengthening sewage treatment capacity and expanding sewer networks, initiatives under the AMRUT 2.0 programme aim to enhance public health, protect water resources and support sustainable urban development.
