TotalEnergies has appointed Emmanuelle Guégan as President, Marketing & Services and as a member of the company’s Executive Committee, effective September 1, 2026. Guégan succeeds Bernard Pinatel, who has decided to retire. Before taking up her new role, Guégan had served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs for TotalEnergies’ Exploration & Production segment since October 2025.
Commenting on the appointment, Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TotalEnergies, thanked Mr Pinatel for his long-standing contribution to the company. He highlighted Pinatel’s industrial experience, team spirit and commitment to the performance and development of the group’s refining, chemicals and marketing activities. Mr Pouyanné also welcomed Ms Guégan to the company’s Executive Committee.
With the change effective September 1, TotalEnergies’ Executive Committee comprises Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer; Aurélien Hamelle, President Strategy & Sustainability; Stéphane Michel, President Gas, Renewables & Power; Emmanuelle Guégan, President Marketing & Services; Catherine Remy, President People & Social Engagement; Jean-Pierre Sbraire, Chief Financial Officer; Namita Shah, President Asia and President OneTech; Vincent Stoquart, President Downstream and President Refining & Chemicals; and Nicolas Terraz, President Exploration & Production.
Ms Guégan began her career at Total in the company’s French retail network within the Marketing & Services business. After holding several operational positions, she joined the Financial Division in 2005 as Head of Cost Control & Reporting for the Exploration & Production segment. She returned to Marketing & Services in 2008 as Head of Finance Control for France. She later took on a series of management responsibilities, including Director New Models in 2012 and HR Strategy and Performance in 2014.
In 2016, Ms Guégan was appointed Vice President Human Resources for the Africa Division. She became Senior Vice President Human Resources and Communications in 2020. In October 2025, she moved to TotalEnergies’ Exploration & Production segment as Senior Vice President Corporate Affairs, a position she held until her latest appointment. Her new role places her at the head of TotalEnergies’ Marketing & Services activities and on the company’s Executive Committee.
The leadership change comes as TotalEnergies continues to manage its activities across energy, refining, chemicals and marketing. Guégan brings experience across operational, financial, human resources, communications and corporate affairs functions developed during her career with the company. The appointment takes effect immediately and marks the next stage in Guégan’s career at TotalEnergies, following more than two decades of experience across several businesses and functions within the group.
