Embraer has announced that its Phenom 300EV light business jet has received certification from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).The triple certification makes the Phenom 300EV the first light jet certified with Garmin® Emergency Autoland. The aircraft is designed to build on the performance of the Phenom 300 family with new safety features, improved range and upgraded cabin technology.
Garmin Emergency Autoland allows the aircraft to carry out an automated landing in the event that the pilot becomes incapacitated. The Phenom 300EV also features electronically controlled systems including autobrake and rudder-by-wire. These functions are enabled by Embraer’s Multi-Purpose Electronic Controller, which is designed to improve handling, reduce pilot workload and simplify maintenance.
Michael Amalfitano, President and CEO of Embraer Executive Jets, said the Phenom 300EV combines the established capabilities of the Phenom 300 series with new safety and performance technologies. He said the completion of triple certification reflects the work of Embraer’s engineering teams and allows the company to move ahead with plans to bring the aircraft to customers in key global markets.
The Phenom 300EV offers a range of up to 2,055 nautical miles, or 3,806 kilometres, with four passengers and NBAA IFR reserves. The company said the range supports nonstop regional journeys, including Aspen-New York, Dubai-Maldives and São Paulo-Manaus.
The aircraft also provides increased payload capability and upgraded passenger amenities. Its cabin will feature a line-fit connectivity solution powered by Gogo Galileo’s Low Earth Orbit satellite network. Starlink connectivity will also be available as an aftermarket option through a Supplemental Type Certificate.
The Phenom 300EV can reach speeds of up to Mach 0.80. Its avionics package includes the Garmin G3000 Prodigy Touch flight deck, autothrottle, autobrake, Runway Overrun Awareness & Alerting System, Emergency Descent Mode and rudder-by-wire. Additional systems include runway and taxi situational awareness and a Synthetic Vision Guidance System. These features are designed to provide pilots with greater situational awareness and support safer and more efficient operations.
Inside the aircraft, Embraer has focused on passenger comfort, with a maximum cabin altitude of 6,600 feet and large windows that provide increased natural light. The aircraft also offers a large baggage compartment, an upgraded refreshment centre and an odorless vacuum lavatory. The Phenom 300EV is scheduled to enter service with deliveries expected to begin in 2028.
