Elektrobit has announced the launch of EB civion, a new software suite designed to support the development of digital cockpits for software-defined vehicles. The company says the solution is intended to help automotive manufacturers and suppliers manage development complexity while improving control across hardware and software platforms.
EB civion brings together multiple software components that address different stages of cockpit development, from early design and testing to production-ready deployment. The suite supports cloud-based development workflows and is designed to work across a range of automotive hardware architectures.
According to Elektrobit, the platform enables manufacturers to shorten development cycles by allowing cockpit software and user interfaces to be created and tested in virtual environments before being deployed to physical systems. This approach is intended to reduce integration challenges later in the development process and support more predictable production timelines.
The software suite also includes hardware-independent components optimized for cockpit domain controllers, allowing development and validation to continue even as hardware configurations change. In addition, EB civion provides pre-integrated solutions for specific system-on-chip platforms, supporting a build-to-print approach for series production.
Elektrobit developed EB civion in collaboration with a network of technology partners, including AMD, AWS, Google, Infineon, and Qualcomm Technologies. These partnerships are intended to ensure compatibility with widely used cloud services and automotive-grade processors.
Maria Anhalt, Chief Executive Officer of Elektrobit, said digital cockpits have become a central part of the in-vehicle experience and require stable, production-ready software foundations. She noted that EB civion is designed to help manufacturers balance innovation with reliability while maintaining oversight of their software supply chains. EB civion will be showcased at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, where Elektrobit will also present additional technologies related to software-defined vehicles, including solutions for safety-critical systems, scalable ECU development, and electric vehicle platforms.
With more than 35 years of experience in automotive software, Elektrobit provides operating systems, middleware, embedded software, digital cockpit solutions, and engineering services to vehicle manufacturers and suppliers worldwide. Its software is deployed in over 630 million vehicles globally, supporting a wide range of vehicle functions across multiple platforms.
