Escorts Kubota Limited (EKL) has reported its highest-ever first-quarter performance, driven by strong growth across its core businesses, higher tractor and construction equipment sales, and continued operational efficiency. The company recorded significant growth in revenue, profitability and earnings during the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

Revenue from continuing operations rose 28% year-on-year to ₹3,178.9 crore, compared with ₹2,483.4 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Sequentially, revenue increased 7.7% from ₹2,950.7 crore. EBITDA from continuing operations stood at ₹355.4 crore, up 9.4% from ₹325 crore a year ago. The EBITDA margin was 11.2% during the quarter. Profit before tax (before exceptional items) increased 18.2% year-on-year to ₹493.8 crore, while net profit before exceptional items grew 26% to ₹387.3 crore.

Earnings per share (EPS) from continuing operations rose to ₹35.20, an increase of 3.9% over the same period last year. The company noted that the corresponding quarter of FY26 included one-time gains from the divestment of its Railway Equipment Division (RED) business and the sale of land and buildings. As a result, the reported net profit figures for the two periods are not directly comparable. Excluding these exceptional gains, the latest quarterly performance reflects strong growth across the company’s core operations.

On a consolidated basis, revenue from continuing operations increased 28.3% year-on-year to ₹3,207.6 crore, while consolidated net profit before exceptional items rose 26.8% to ₹385.9 crore. Consolidated EPS for the quarter stood at ₹35.08. Commenting on the results, the company’s management said the strong quarterly performance was supported by healthy business fundamentals, disciplined execution and higher treasury income. Despite inflationary pressures on raw material costs, the company maintained growth through effective cost management and operational efficiencies. Management added that a strong pipeline of new product launches and continued investments in innovation will support future growth and create long-term value for customers and shareholders.

The Agriculture Machinery business remained the key growth driver during the quarter. Tractor sales increased 20.5% year-on-year to 36,862 units, compared with 30,581 units in the same quarter last year. Domestic tractor sales grew 22.9%, outperforming the overall industry growth of 18.6% and resulting in a gain in market share.

Revenue from the agriculture machinery segment increased 26.8% to ₹2,766.5 crore, while the segment reported an EBIT margin of 10.8%. The Construction Equipment business also delivered strong growth. Sales volumes rose 27.4% year-on-year to 1,344 units, while segment revenue increased 39.2% to ₹419.6 crore. The business recorded an EBIT margin of 5.4% during the quarter.

Escorts Kubota said it remains focused on strengthening its leadership across the agriculture and construction equipment sectors through product innovation, improved operational efficiency and customer-centric solutions. Backed by robust demand, expanding product offerings and continued investments in technology, the company expects to sustain its growth momentum in the coming quarters while delivering greater value to customers, partners and shareholders.
