Dixon Technologies signs MOU with Acerpure for manufacturing Consumer Appliances

Electronics manufacturing services firm Dixon Technologies announced today that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Acerpure for the manufacturing of consumer appliance products. This strategic partnership will see Dixon Technologies producing Acerpure products at its facilities, beginning with televisions, pending the signing of definitive agreements.

Acerpure, known for its trade, import, and export of consumer durables, home appliances, and related peripherals, will collaborate with Dixon to bolster its manufacturing capabilities. This move aligns with Acerpure’s strategy to enhance its product offerings and market presence through a reliable manufacturing partner.

Sunil Vachani, Executive Chairman of Dixon Technologies, highlighted the significance of this collaboration: “The introduction of Acerpure and our expanded collaborative efforts represent a significant stride towards enhancing India’s self-sufficiency and global competitiveness in the electronics sector. Aligned with the ‘Make in India’ initiative, our goal is to manufacture premium consumer products for both domestic and international markets, thereby stimulating economic growth and fostering innovation while nurturing local talent. This partnership underscores our unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality, Made in India products, marking a notable milestone in our relentless pursuit of excellence.”

Dixon Technologies has been on an impressive growth trajectory. The company recently announced its expectation to close the current fiscal year with a revenue of approximately Rs 19,000 crore. Vice Chairman and Managing Director Atul Lall detailed Dixon’s ambitious plans for expansion: “In a short period of just 5-6 years, we have grown from Rs 1,500 crore, and this year, we should close at around Rs 19,000 crore. We have grown from 1,700 people to 27,000 people, and let me assure you that this is going to double in 2 years.”

This MOU with Acerpure is expected to further solidify Dixon Technologies’ position as a leading player in the electronics manufacturing sector. The collaboration is anticipated to bring significant advancements in the production of consumer appliances, reflecting the company’s dedication to innovation and quality.

Shares of Dixon Technologies responded positively to the news, closing 1.63 percent higher at Rs 8,235 apiece on the BSE on May 16. The partnership between Dixon Technologies and Acerpure represents a noteworthy development in the Indian electronics industry, promising to enhance the availability of high-quality, locally manufactured consumer appliances and contribute to the country’s economic and technological advancement.
