Dixon Technologies’ Arm Inks Pact with Nokia Solutions to Make Telecom Products

In a move set to bolster India’s manufacturing prowess and expand the country’s footprint in the telecom sector, Dixon Technologies, a prominent homegrown electronics manufacturer, has announced a significant partnership with global telecommunications giant Nokia.

Dixon’s subsidiary, Dixon Electro Appliances Private Limited (DEAPL), sealed the deal with Nokia Solutions and Networks OY, a renowned developer and supplier of advanced communications equipment, terminals, accessories, and connectivity solutions. The collaboration, disclosed via an exchange filing on Monday, signifies a strategic alignment aimed at tapping into the burgeoning telecom product market.

Atul B. Lall, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Dixon Technologies, expressed optimism about the partnership, highlighting its potential to enhance India’s manufacturing competitiveness. “This association will give a strong impetus to India’s manufacturing competitiveness. There is tremendous scope and potential in the Telecom product market and it’s gratifying that Nokia has partnered with Dixon for its Telecom products segment,” he stated in a press release.

Lall further emphasized the combined strengths of both entities, noting, “We are sure that with their vision and stringent industry-leading processes, combined with our expertise in manufacturing, Nokia’s customers are going to have an enriching experience.”

Under the agreement, Dixon Technologies will undertake the development and manufacturing of telecom products at its Noida facility in Uttar Pradesh, leveraging its state-of-the-art infrastructure and robust capabilities. DEAPL’s Noida unit is renowned for its efficiency and adherence to global quality standards.

Dixon Technologies boasts a diverse product portfolio, encompassing consumer durables, lighting solutions, and mobile devices. From LED TVs and home appliances like washing machines to lighting products such as LED bulbs and mobile phones, the company has established a strong presence in various segments of the electronics market.
