DHL Group has inaugurated its latest DHL IT Services (ITS) center in Indore, marking its fifth technology hub in India and the company’s first dedicated technology training academy in the country. The new center strengthens DHL’s growing network across Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, reinforcing India’s position as a key hub for digital innovation and technology talent.
As the digital core of the world’s leading logistics company, DHL IT Services powers global operations with nearly 6,000 IT professionals delivering secure, scalable, and resilient solutions across on-premise and cloud environments. With this expansion, DHL ITS’s workforce now includes 1,300 experts in India, reflecting the country’s importance to DHL’s digital strategy.
“Digitalization is one of the five megatrends shaping our Strategy 2030, and India plays a central role in that journey,” said Supriya Rao Patwardhan, Executive Vice President and Global Head of IT Services, DHL Group. “India’s strong talent pool and focus on skill development are helping us drive automation, artificial intelligence, and advanced digital capabilities that elevate productivity and customer experience.”
Located at Brilliant Summit in Indore, the new center has already onboarded over 100 professionals. DHL chose Indore for its thriving academic environment, availability of skilled graduates, and high employee retention rates. “We are proud to be the first global logistics company to open a center in Indore,” said Johan Berghs, Senior Vice President, Global Head of Digital Solutions and Head of ITS India. “The city’s rich educational ecosystem enables us to partner with institutions to shape curricula and create career pathways for future technology professionals.”
Over the past 18 months, DHL ITS India has rapidly expanded from one to five centers, establishing itself as one of DHL’s fastest-growing global technology hubs. With over 1,300 digital and logistics specialists, ITS India plays a vital role in building and maintaining world-class digital systems that support DHL’s logistics network worldwide.
The Indore center also represents a new chapter for DHL ITS India—serving as a technology training academy focused on upskilling employees in digital technologies, automation, AI, and leadership. It will also collaborate with academic institutions and industry partners to accelerate skill development and innovation across the organization.
“In just eight years, and particularly over the last two, we’ve built a powerful technology ecosystem in India,” Mr Berghs added. “Our focus extends beyond creating jobs—we’re offering global exposure, leadership growth, and long-term career opportunities. With five centers across India and being recognized as a Great Place to Work for three consecutive years, the future looks incredibly promising.”
Today, DHL ITS India works with more than 15 technology partners and has forged five academic partnerships to align education with industry demands. These collaborations ensure that DHL’s Indian technology teams continue to deliver innovations—from AI-driven logistics and robotics to IoT and advanced analytics—that strengthen DHL’s global competitiveness.
“Our teams are driving innovation that keeps DHL ahead in the digital era,” concluded Ms Rao Patwardhan. “ITS India’s growing expertise and access to exceptional talent are essential in helping us maintain our position as the global leader in technology-enabled logistics.”
