Deepak Chem Tech Limited (DCTL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Deepak Nitrite Limited, has entered into a long-term agreement with Praxair India, a Linde company, for the development of a Hydrogen and Carbon Monoxide (HyCO) plant. The facility will support DCTL’s upcoming polycarbonate manufacturing project at Padariya in Dahej, Gujarat.

As part of the agreement, Praxair India will design, build, own and operate a dedicated on-site plant to supply critical feedstocks required for polycarbonate production. This arrangement ensures a steady and long-term supply of essential raw materials, strengthening the foundation of DCTL’s new manufacturing initiative.

The collaboration combines DCTL’s capabilities in advanced materials with Praxair India’s experience in industrial gas infrastructure. The on-site supply model is expected to ensure consistent availability of inputs while supporting operational efficiency. This approach will allow DCTL to focus on its core manufacturing processes while relying on a specialised partner for critical feedstock supply.

DCTL’s integrated polycarbonate project is aimed at boosting domestic production of a high-performance engineering material widely used across sectors such as automotive, electrical and electronics, construction, and consumer goods. The project is expected to reduce reliance on imports and support the growing demand for polycarbonate in India’s expanding industrial landscape.

The long-term supply arrangement has been structured to ensure quality consistency, scalability, and resilience across the supply chain. It is also expected to provide greater execution clarity as the project progresses toward commissioning.

Commenting on the development, Meghav Mehta, Executive Director and CEO of Deepak Chem Tech Limited, said that securing a reliable source of key raw materials is an important milestone for the polycarbonate project. He added that the partnership with Praxair India brings strong technical expertise and operational capabilities, which will support efficient project execution and deliver value to customers. The HyCO facility is scheduled to be commissioned in 2028, in alignment with the timeline of DCTL’s polycarbonate plant.
