Danfoss India Empowers India’s Premier IIM Campuses with Cutting-Edge Variable Frequency Drives

Variable-Frequency-Drives

Danfoss India, renowned for its sustainable and energy-efficient solutions, continues its commitment to enhancing India’s educational infrastructure. In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent inauguration of the permanent campuses of IIM in Bodh Gaya and Vishakhapatnam, Danfoss India proudly announces its contribution to these significant projects.

The global leader in energy efficiency is advancing its mission for a sustainable India by installing its state-of-the-art Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) at these prestigious educational institutions. Through the deployment of their energy-efficient technologies at these premier campuses, Danfoss is enabling energy efficiency, enhancing machine productivity, reducing emissions, lowering energy consumption, promoting electrification, and supporting sustainable growth.

Danfoss’ technologies play a crucial role in decarbonizing the economy, ensuring reliable and sustainable energy for all. Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) have been strategically installed in critical systems such as air handling units, water pumps, and cooling towers. These drives dynamically adjust motor speed in response to changing load demands, effectively optimizing energy usage and operational performance.

Danfoss offers specialized valves known as Pressure Independent Balancing and Control Valves (PIBCVs), which enhance the efficiency of heating and cooling systems. These valves maintain optimal temperatures in buildings by regulating the flow of hot or cold water. They achieve this without requiring frequent adjustments, thus conserving energy by ensuring the system operates only as much as necessary. With Danfoss PIBCVs, buildings can maintain comfort levels while reducing energy consumption and costs.

Ravichandran Purushothaman, President of Danfoss India, expressed pride in the partnership with esteemed institutions like IIM Bodh Gaya and Vishakhapatnam. He highlighted the contribution to India’s educational infrastructure through cutting-edge technologies. Installation of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Pressure Independent Balancing and Control Valves (PIBCVs) aims to enhance energy efficiency, productivity, and comfort, while also reducing emissions and energy usage.

The customized solutions were implemented after a thorough site assessment to identify critical applications, evaluate power quality concerns, and strategically position VFDs and PIBCVs in premium campuses. In line with the assessment results, a tailored solution design was crafted to meet the unique needs of IIM, ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Danfoss India is actively providing sustainable solutions across key sectors, aligning with India’s Decarbonization Mission.

From the Marine Pumps Sector to the Healthcare Sector, exemplified by the recent collaboration with AIIMS, Danfoss’ advanced VFDs drive energy efficiency across various industries. The VLT® and VACON® drives play a significant role in controlling pumps to match the actual process needs, thereby reducing energy consumption. Moreover, Danfoss’ Application Development Centre in India has achieved up to 30% lower energy consumption compared to conventional methods through the use of cutting-edge HVAC technologies.

By promoting intelligent building solutions, Danfoss India aims to minimize the carbon footprint and improve energy efficiency in the construction sector. The global player plans to expand its presence to 80 Indian cities in the next two years, with a strategic focus on product localization and the integration of new technologies to drive sectoral growth. These initiatives underscore Danfoss’s commitment to investing in sustainable construction practices for India’s future development.
