Danfoss India has entered into a strategic partnership with engineering firm PowerNEU to establish Danfoss PowerNEU Private Limited, a joint venture aimed at supporting India’s metals and heavy industries with locally delivered engineering and execution capabilities. The joint venture was inaugurated with a groundbreaking ceremony for a new manufacturing facility and office in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.

The formation of Danfoss PowerNEU reinforces Danfoss’s long-standing commitment to India by strengthening its ability to deliver energy-efficient and emissions-reduction solutions closer to industrial customers. Located in one of the country’s key steel-producing regions, the Jamshedpur facility will serve steel and metals manufacturers across Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and nearby industrial clusters. The joint venture has been set up as a long-term platform to expand decarbonisation solutions across India’s metals and heavy industry sector.

The new facility is designed to enable closer collaboration with customers through faster on-site support, round-the-clock connectivity, and quicker execution. This approach allows solutions to be developed and deployed based on actual plant conditions, helping customers improve energy use, operational performance, and environmental outcomes.

Once fully operational, the facility will function as an integrated centre offering design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance for complex industrial applications, in line with Danfoss global standards. Products and systems from Danfoss Power Drives, Danfoss Climate Solutions, and Danfoss Power Solutions will be delivered from a single location.

The site will also include a dedicated Experience Centre focused on decarbonisation technologies across power electronics, climate solutions, and hydraulics. The centre will support customer engagement through live demonstrations, technical training, and capability development, helping customers adopt new technologies with confidence.

As Indian industries step up efforts to reduce emissions, energy efficiency is becoming a key driver of both sustainability and competitiveness. With more than half of global energy projected to be lost as waste heat by 2030 and demand for green steel in India expected to reach 4.49 million tonnes by FY30, Danfoss India views decarbonisation as both an environmental responsibility and a business opportunity—enabled by technologies that lower energy consumption, emissions, and operating costs.

Commenting on the development, Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India, said, “India’s metals and heavy industries are at an important point where future growth must go hand in hand with responsible energy use. Danfoss PowerNEU brings together global expertise and strong local execution. The Jamshedpur facility highlights the strategic role of Eastern India in the country’s steel ecosystem.”

Mandar Vaijanapurkar, Head – Drives Sales, Marketing & Services, Danfoss India, added, “This joint venture is a focused step toward supporting decarbonisation in India’s core industrial sectors. The Centre of Excellence in Jamshedpur will play a central role by supporting application development and advanced engineering, enabling faster implementation and sustained performance improvements at customer sites.”

Vijay Kumar Singh, Managing Director, Danfoss PowerNEU Systems Pvt Ltd, said, “Danfoss PowerNEU combines Danfoss’s global technology expertise and decarbonisation experience with PowerNEU’s engineering strength, regional knowledge, and execution capability. Together, we aim to improve operational results and customer experience for steel producers across the region.”

Tanmay Roy, Director – Operations, Danfoss PowerNEU Systems Pvt Ltd, said, “The Centre of Excellence in Jamshedpur will focus on application engineering, capability building, and plant-level performance improvement for the metals sector. Our goal is to help customers move from pilot projects to large-scale implementation with measurable results.”
