Daifuku Intralogistics India successfully developed and launched its first stacker crane manufactured entirely in India. The 30-metre-tall automated system was designed and built at the company’s new facility in Hyderabad, representing a ₹227 crore investment that strengthens India’s position in advanced manufacturing. The stacker crane stands by Daifuku’s rigorous global Japanese quality standards. This achievement demonstrates the technical capability and precision engineering now available within India’s manufacturing ecosystem. By localising production, Daifuku has created skilled jobs while establishing India as a centre for advanced materials handling systems.Â
“Our first made-in-India stacker crane showcases the depth of our engineering capability, the dedication of our people, and the immense promise India holds as a world-class manufacturing hub,” said Asim Behera, Chief Executive Officer, Daifuku Intralogistics India. “It represents how global expertise and Indian talent can work together to build advanced automation systems for the future of warehousing.”
With a focus on quality and innovation, the stacker crane is designed with advanced capabilities, including precision positioning and energy-efficient technologies. These features make it particularly suitable for high-density storage applications across various industries.Â
Daifuku’s Hyderabad facility, inaugurated in April 2025, spans 34,000 square metres and employs skilled engineers and technicians dedicated to design excellence. The plant is equipped with cutting-edge manufacturing technology, enabling end-to-end production of complex intralogistics systems within India.
The company plans to expand its manufacturing capabilities at the Hyderabad facility, with production capacity expected to increase as domestic and international demand grow. It also plans to expand its product portfolio to include additional intralogistics systems manufactured in India over the next three years.Â
