Cyient Semiconductors has announced a strategic financing transaction with funds managed by EAAA India Alternatives Ltd, part of the Edelweiss Group, along with affiliated co-investors, to accelerate the expansion of its global semiconductor business and strengthen its product-led growth strategy. The transaction includes an equity investment of nearly USD 10 million (approximately Rs. 100 crore) at a post-money equity valuation of around USD 500 million (Rs. 4,600 crore), along with structured debt financing of nearly USD 20 million. The combined funding package of approximately USD 30 million is aimed at strengthening the company’s capital structure and supporting long-term business expansion. The deal remains subject to definitive agreements and customary closing conditions.

The investment comes at a time when the global semiconductor industry is witnessing rising demand for advanced power-efficient technologies driven by artificial intelligence, cloud computing, automotive electronics, and industrial automation. Increasing energy requirements of AI infrastructure and data centers are creating significant opportunities for companies focused on power semiconductors and custom silicon development.

India’s semiconductor ecosystem is also gaining momentum through policy initiatives led by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, including the India Semiconductor Mission and the Design Linked Incentive scheme, which are encouraging domestic chip design, manufacturing, and product innovation. Over the past year, Cyient Semiconductors has significantly expanded its semiconductor capabilities through acquisitions, product launches, and strategic partnerships. The company acquired Kinetic Technologies, a power semiconductor company with over three billion chips shipped globally, a portfolio of more than 250 products, and over 100 patents.

The company also launched India’s first gallium nitride-based power IC family in collaboration with Navitas Semiconductor and established ecosystem partnerships with GlobalFoundries and MIPS. In addition, Cyient Semiconductors secured the Semiconductor Laboratory modernization program, a strategic initiative under India’s semiconductor roadmap.

The newly raised capital will be deployed across three strategic areas — advancing product research and development for custom power semiconductors and ASSPs, building semiconductor validation and testing infrastructure in India, and supporting working capital requirements for large-scale global customer engagements. Commenting on the development, Suman Narayan said the increasing power demands of AI infrastructure are reshaping the semiconductor industry and creating opportunities for companies with strong capabilities in custom silicon and intelligent power technologies.

Headquartered in Hyderabad, Cyient Semiconductors specialises in custom ASIC and ASSP solutions focused on analog mixed-signal technologies, intelligent power systems, and advanced semiconductor platforms. The company operates design centres in India, Belgium, and the United States, serving customers across automotive, robotics, industrial automation, and data centre industries.
