Comprehensive Fire Protection for Rail: WAGNER at TRAKO 2025

Manufacturing-News

From September 23 to 26, 2025, WAGNER Rail GmbH will showcase its fire protection technologies for rail transport at TRAKO in Gdańsk, one of Europe’s most important trade fairs for railway infrastructure and mobility solutions. At booth B01, visitors can discover how WAGNER’s advanced systems enhance safety and operational reliability in modern rail vehicles.

For more than 30 years, the company based in Haar near Munich has been developing tailor-made safety solutions for rolling stock and has become a global leader in integrated fire protection for rail applications. To strengthen its position in the Polish market, WAGNER Rail will intensify collaboration with its local subsidiary, WAGNER Poland Sp. z o.o. Their joint participation at TRAKO 2025 marks the first time subsidiaries of the WAGNER Group present themselves together at this major international industry platform. This step reflects the growing importance of local expertise and customer support in the national language.

WAGNER Poland, led by Managing Director Ireneusz Bruski, contributes in-depth technical expertise and long-standing project experience in fire protection. This knowledge will now also benefit customers in the rail sector. PKP Intercity S.A. has already recognized this competence by certifying WAGNER Poland as an official supplier, making the subsidiary a direct source for the complete WAGNER product portfolio.

WAGNER’s portfolio for the rail industry is designed to provide reliable protection for both passengers and critical infrastructure. Its early fire detection systems are engineered to deliver maximum sensitivity while remaining highly resistant to false alarms, ensuring rapid response without unnecessary interruptions. Complementing this technology is an innovative water mist extinguishing system, which offers effective firefighting in passenger areas while being safe, efficient, and space-saving.

For technical equipment rooms, WAGNER also offers advanced gas and aerosol extinguishing solutions. These systems are tailored to safeguard sensitive electronics and essential control components, minimizing damage while maintaining operational continuity. Together, these solutions form a comprehensive approach to fire protection in modern rail transport. Depending on requirements, these systems can be integrated into the Train Control and Management System (TCMS) or operated as standalone units—ideal for retrofit projects.

WAGNER systems are in use in projects around the globe, including PKP Intercity passenger cars, PESA Link for DB Regio, Newcastle Metro, Kuala Lumpur Metro, Shenyang Metro, Deutsche Bahn ICE4, Munich Subway, Eurostar Velaro, Thameslink UK, ÖBB Railjet, Transrapid Shanghai, SBB double-deck trains, Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn, East Anglia Flirt UK, Glasgow Metro, Rhätische Bahn, Indian Railways, Caltrain USA, and Dortmund Stadtbahn, among others.

Headquartered in Langenhagen, Germany, WAGNER Group GmbH has been setting standards in technical fire protection since 1976. With around 800 employees at 25 locations in 15 countries, the company is a recognized technology leader in detection and prevention. Continuous research and development, innovation management, patents, and certifications underscore its pioneering role.

Recognition such as the TOP 100 Award further highlights WAGNER as one of Germany’s most innovative medium-sized enterprises. Its expertise spans all key areas of fire safety: detection with TITANUS®, prevention with OxyReduct®, extinguishing with FirExting®, and hazard management with VisuLAN®.
