New Kennametal Library is now available for all Mastecam users worldwide. CNC Software, LLC, the developer of the renowned CAD/CAM software, Mastercam, has partnered with Kennametal, a global leader in metal cutting tools and solutions, to enable customers to directly access tooling data for Kennametal brand drills and solid carbide end mills through the Mastercam tool library on their Tech Exchange platform.
The partnership allowed Mastercam developers to integrate data on Kennametal’s high-performance cutting tools, including GOdrill™ and Kenna Universal™ solid carbide drills, and a selection of HARVI™ and KOR™ end mills, into the Mastercam software. As a result, Mastercam users can easily import tooling data, save time searching for desired tools, and build tool assemblies more efficiently.
According to Stas Mylek, Partnership Program Manager at CNC Software, LLC, the partnership will offer more than 300,000 Mastercam users access to these high-performance cutting tools from Kennametal. Mylek expressed his excitement over the collaboration, saying it provides a simple and integrated tool solution to Mastercam users.
Users with Maintained Mastercam licenses can download the cutting tool libraries from the Mastercam Tech Exchange portal on their website. The native Mastercam tool database is fully compatible with both Mastercam 2022 and the latest 2023 release.
Eddie McBarnet, Vice President of Marketing at Kennametal, noted that the integration of their tooling data with the Mastercam library will digitize Kennametal’s innovation and productivity, making it easier for customers to identify tooling requirements, build machining strategies, and purchase their tools. He added that the digital tooling data, combined with Mastercam’s powerful software, will enable hundreds of thousands of customers to find solutions to their toughest machining challenges and enhance productivity and efficiency using Kennametal tooling.
