Cipla Health Limited has expanded its efforts to promote tobacco cessation and preventive healthcare through a series of awareness and screening initiatives conducted across Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai to mark World No Tobacco Day. The campaign engaged more than 1,500 individuals through health screenings, counselling sessions and educational outreach aimed at encouraging early detection of tobacco-related illnesses and supporting long-term quitting efforts.

Tobacco consumption continues to be one of India’s most pressing public health concerns, affecting millions of people across urban and rural communities. Despite growing awareness of the health risks associated with smoking and smokeless tobacco products, many users struggle to quit due to limited access to guidance, medical support and structured cessation programs.

To address this challenge, Cipla Health partnered with leading healthcare institutions, medical associations and dental colleges to organize a range of community-focused interventions. The program combined oral health examinations with lung health assessments, enabling participants to receive preventive screenings while gaining a better understanding of the risks associated with tobacco use.

In Mumbai, the initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association and focused on municipal workers across several city wards. Participants received oral cancer screenings and preventive health consultations, helping identify potential concerns at an early stage.

The Bengaluru leg of the campaign took place at the busy Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station. Organized in partnership with Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Science & Hospital, the program reached commuters and railway staff through awareness sessions, educational interactions and screening support.

Meanwhile, in Chennai, Cipla Health collaborated with Saveetha Dental College for a week-long community outreach initiative. The program focused on engaging tobacco users through counselling, educational sessions and support resources designed to encourage quit attempts and healthier lifestyle choices.

Healthcare professionals involved in the initiative emphasized the importance of early detection, noting that many tobacco-related conditions develop gradually and often remain unnoticed until they become severe. Regular screening can play a critical role in identifying warning signs and motivating individuals to seek treatment or adopt preventive measures.

Cipla Health continues to support tobacco cessation through Nicotex, its nicotine replacement therapy brand, and Nicotex Begin, a digital platform that combines behavioural support with scientifically backed cessation tools. The company also leverages Breathefree to promote respiratory health awareness and access to diagnostic services.Through sustained community engagement and healthcare partnerships, Cipla Health aims to build greater awareness around tobacco-related diseases while helping more individuals move toward a tobacco-free future.
