Ceigall India Ltd, among the country’s rapidly advancing EPC enterprises, has been awarded a Letter of Intent by REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) to set up a 400/220 kV Gas Insulated Substation at Velgaon in Maharashtra. The project is being executed through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding route, positioning Ceigall firmly in the high-voltage transmission infrastructure space.
The substation will be constructed within a period of two years, followed by a 35-year operations and maintenance concession. The project structure ensures predictable, long-term income, with an annual annuity of ₹58.5 crore for 35 years against an EPC value of approximately ₹450 crore — enabling Ceigall to balance recurring infrastructure revenue with traditional EPC activities.
This expansion into the transmission and distribution segment reflects Ceigall’s evolution into a long-term sustainable infrastructure developer with asset-building capabilities. Ramneek Sehgal, Chairman & Managing Director, Ceigall India Ltd, stated “We are privileged to be entrusted with this project by REC Power. The Velgaon GIS substation will play an essential role in bolstering the region’s power network. Ceigall is committed to delivering infrastructure with durability, safety, and cutting-edge engineering as India strengthens its electricity backbone.” This latest contract adds momentum to Ceigall’s recent project successes in highways, mobility corridors, bridges, and urban infrastructure, further expanding its portfolio of complex engineering works.
