BorgWarner has released its 2026 Sustainability Report, titled “Powering Tomorrow,” outlining the company’s progress on its sustainability goals and initiatives aimed at supporting a cleaner and more energy-efficient future. The report highlights BorgWarner’s work across environmental, employee and business responsibility areas as the automotive industry continues to change.

“‘Powering Tomorrow’ is more than the title of this year’s report. For over 130 years, we’ve enabled OEMs to power vehicles while improving their performance and efficiency, and we’re leveraging our expertise and know-how to support the industrial market with the same goals in mind,” said Joseph F. Fadool, President and CEO, BorgWarner Inc.

He said the progress outlined in the report reflects the efforts of BorgWarner employees across the world and their work on technologies that support a cleaner future while strengthening responsible business practices. The 2026 report covers several areas of the company’s sustainability programme. These include progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increased engagement with suppliers on sustainability issues, cybersecurity awareness and continued investment in employee development.

BorgWarner said its greenhouse gas reduction efforts remain an important part of its sustainability work. The company is also working with suppliers to improve sustainability practices across its supply chain. Supplier engagement has become increasingly important as companies across the automotive industry work to improve environmental performance beyond their own operations. BorgWarner’s latest report outlines its efforts to involve suppliers more closely in these activities.

The report also highlights the company’s focus on cybersecurity. As connected technologies and digital systems become more important across manufacturing and mobility, BorgWarner is continuing to strengthen awareness of cybersecurity across its organisation.

Employee development is another key area covered in the report. BorgWarner is investing in skills development and internal career opportunities to help employees build capabilities for changing business and technology requirements. Fadool said the company’s sustainability efforts are intended to create long-term value for customers, employees, shareholders and communities.

BorgWarner has more than 130 years of experience in automotive technology. The company develops technologies aimed at improving vehicle performance and efficiency and is expanding its capabilities to support changing mobility and industrial requirements.
