Borchers, a brand of Milliken and a global supplier of coating additives, is presenting its latest technologies at Paint India, taking place in Mumbai from February 19–21. Visitors can explore the company’s solutions at Hall 6, Stand W9, where Borchers is focusing on products developed for the changing needs of the coatings industry in India and across Asia.
At the exhibition, Borchers is featuring catalysts, dispersants, and adhesion promoters designed to improve coating performance, simplify production, and increase durability in challenging environments. These solutions support key industry priorities such as the move toward waterborne coatings, more efficient manufacturing processes, and longer-lasting exterior finishes.
Jeff Losch, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Milliken’s polymer solutions business, said India’s coatings sector is changing quickly as manufacturers seek higher performance, improved sustainability, and greater production efficiency. He noted that Borchers’ technologies, combined with Milliken’s local technical support, help customers develop formulations faster while achieving reliable results.
Borchers is presenting Borchi® OXY–Coat 1101, a catalyst developed to speed up drying and improve the durability of waterborne alkyd coatings. It offers an effective replacement for traditional cobalt driers and solvent-based systems while maintaining strong performance standards.
The company is also introducing a new range of dispersants created for the Asian coatings market. These dispersants enhance pigment distribution in industrial coatings and enable the co-grinding of multiple pigments, helping manufacturers cut processing time and lower production costs.
The dispersant range includes Borchi® Gen 5113, suitable for organic and carbon black pigments; Borchi® Gen 5115, designed for titanium dioxide and iron oxide pigments; and Borchi® Gen 0311, which offers compatibility across a broad spectrum of pigments. Testing has shown stronger color development, better formulation stability, and improved resistance to flooding compared with conventional products.
Another highlight is Borchi® Gen AOD, an adhesion promoter that improves bonding to non-ferrous substrates in baked polyester systems and related applications. It delivers reliable adhesion in cross-hatch tests, enhanced MEK resistance, and maintains a smooth film appearance without affecting gloss or clarity.
Alongside these products, Borchers has expanded its local presence in India by strengthening its technical team and capabilities at Milliken’s Pune laboratory. This allows faster formulation development and the creation of starting-point formulations using locally sourced raw materials, helping customers shorten development cycles and bring products to market more quickly.
Through its participation at Paint India, Borchers is highlighting how locally supported solutions combined with Milliken’s global materials expertise can help coatings manufacturers meet current performance needs and prepare for future challenges.
