Big Joe Forklifts has announced the launch of the WS25-40 High Performance Lithium-ion Stacker, a walkie straddle stacker developed to enhance productivity in space-constrained warehouse environments and high-speed production settings. The new model is designed to address the operational challenges of tighter aisle configurations and increasing throughput requirements.

With load capacities ranging from 2,500 to 4,000 lbs., the WS25-40 combines a compact footprint with advanced operational features. Its design allows for improved maneuverability in confined spaces, enabling operators to handle materials more efficiently without compromising control or safety.

The stacker is equipped with adjustable lift and lowering speeds, allowing operators to optimize cycle times based on application needs. Fully proportional controls provide precise load handling, supporting smoother and more accurate operations in demanding environments.

A key feature of the WS25-40 is its integrated lithium-ion battery system, which comes standard with an onboard charger. This configuration removes the need for routine battery maintenance and supports flexible charging practices. Operators can take advantage of opportunity charging, reducing downtime and eliminating the need for battery swaps or dedicated charging stations.

The introduction of lithium-ion technology also contributes to lower total cost of ownership by minimizing maintenance requirements and improving energy efficiency. The system is designed to deliver consistent performance over extended operating periods, supporting uninterrupted workflows.

According to Jimmy Anderson, Director of Product Management at Big Joe Forklifts, the WS25-40 has been developed with a focus on practical operational needs. He noted that the equipment is intended to offer a balance of compact design, responsiveness, and ease of use, enabling operators to perform efficiently in fast-paced environments.

The WS25-40 reflects the company’s continued focus on advancing electric material handling solutions. By integrating lithium-ion technology into operator-centric equipment, Big Joe aims to support the industry’s shift toward cleaner, more efficient alternatives to traditional internal combustion systems. The launch further strengthens the company’s portfolio of lithium-powered equipment designed to improve productivity, reduce operating costs, and simplify fleet management.

Founded in 1951, Big Joe Forklifts is a North American provider of material handling equipment and solutions. The company focuses on delivering lithium-ion powered forklifts, advanced handling systems, and automation technologies through its dealer network, supporting the transition toward more efficient and sustainable industrial operations.
