Big Joe Forklifts has introduced two new solutions at the MODEX exhibition, highlighting its continued focus on electrification and operational efficiency in material handling. The company unveiled the Big Joe Pulse asset optimisation platform and the LPX40 lithium-ion pneumatic tire forklift, both designed to support the transition away from internal combustion equipment.

The newly launched Big Joe Pulse is an advanced fleet intelligence tool integrated as a standard feature across the company’s Class sit-down counterbalance models. The system provides remote access to operational data, enabling users to monitor performance, track energy usage, and manage maintenance more effectively. Through telemetry-based insights, the platform offers enhanced visibility into fleet operations, helping businesses optimise efficiency and reduce downtime.

Key features of the system include energy consumption tracking, charging behaviour analytics, and reporting on fuel and emissions savings. The platform also includes diagnostic tools such as fault code analysis, repair guidance, and remote monitoring capabilities, allowing operators to identify issues and take corrective action in real time. Fleet management dashboards further support decision-making by highlighting efficiency gaps and enabling data-driven planning.

Alongside the digital platform, Big Joe introduced the LPX40, a 4,000-pound capacity forklift equipped with an integrated lithium-ion battery system. Designed for both indoor and outdoor applications, the model is positioned as a replacement for traditional propane-powered equipment. It is suited for sectors such as agriculture, third-party logistics, transportation, and equipment rental.

The LPX40 offers high performance in demanding environments, supported by large tires and increased ground clearance. Its maintenance-free lithium-ion battery, combined with an onboard charging system, eliminates the need for fuel handling and engine upkeep. An optional enclosed cab with heating functionality is also available, enhancing operator comfort in varied working conditions. The model is scheduled for market launch later this year.

Martin Boyd, Chief Marketing Officer at Big Joe Forklifts, stated that the new offerings are the result of close engagement with customers and dealers. He noted that the company’s approach focuses on delivering practical solutions that improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, and support informed decision-making across fleets.

Founded in 1951, Big Joe Forklifts has established a strong presence in North America’s material handling sector. The company continues to develop lithium-ion and automation-driven solutions aimed at improving productivity while supporting sustainability goals across industrial operations.
