BGauss, an Indian electric mobility company focused on design and engineering, has launched the C12 MaxR electric scooter with a claimed IDC-certified range of 178 km, 4.2 kW peak power and a top speed of more than 75 km/h. The new scooter has been developed to combine range, performance, storage, technology and everyday practicality for Indian riders. It is based on BGauss’ WSA Platform, a flexible vehicle architecture designed to support different motor, battery and wheel configurations. The platform uses high-tensile micro-alloy steel and robotic manufacturing processes and is engineered for a life of up to 150,000 km.

The C12 MaxR is equipped with a 3.8 kWh IP67-rated LFP battery housed in an aluminium enclosure designed for heat dissipation and thermal management. Its Battery Management System includes 110 safety and protection features for monitoring key battery parameters.

Power is supplied by BGauss’ HyperZen in-wheel hyperdrive motor platform. The system delivers 4.2 kW of peak power and integrates the motor, gear transmission, braking system and Motor Control Unit into a compact architecture. The integrated transmission removes the need for a conventional belt or chain and is designed to reduce transmission losses and maintenance requirements. The scooter offers Eco, Ride and Sport riding modes, along with reverse mode, cruise control and regenerative braking. It has a claimed gradeability of 18±2°.

Commenting on the launch, Hemant Kabra, Founder, BGauss, said, “Over the last six years, we have been focused on building electric mobility around the Indian consumer, and the C12 MaxR brings that philosophy together in one product. We wanted to create a scooter that delivers on the fundamentals of range, performance and reliability, while also addressing the importance of space, design, lighting and technology.”

The C12 MaxR also focuses on storage through BGauss’ LifeEasy design philosophy. Its under-seat boot can accommodate two helmets, while additional features include an umbrella holder, lockable storage compartment, wireless charging, mobile and bottle storage and a dedicated cleaning-cloth space. The large floorboard can also accommodate medium-sized luggage.

A 5-inch TFT display provides turn-by-turn navigation, call notifications, ride and charging statistics, user profiles and document storage. Connected features include Parental Lock, SecureLock, firmware updates, vehicle health checks, SOS and DigiLocker connectivity.

The scooter features 12-inch alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, a 220 mm front disc brake, rear CBS braking, telescopic front suspension and a five-step adjustable rear suspension. It offers 160 mm ground clearance and a payload capacity of 150 kg. The BGauss C12 MaxR will be available in Sparkling Wine with Champagne Gold, Terra Green with Champagne Gold, Pearl White and Satin Black through the company’s dealership network across India.

With a combination of advanced technology, sustainable practices, and a growing presence in the market, BGauss is well-positioned to lead the electric two-wheeler revolution in India. As part of the RR Global group, BGauss is committed to reducing emissions and contributing to a cleaner, greener future with its zero-emission electric vehicles.
