BCPL Railway Infrastructure Limited has secured a new contract valued at ₹130.95 million from the Electrical Department of the South East Central Railway for overhead electrification works associated with the modernization and expansion of the Bilaspur railway yard. The project encompasses balance overhead equipment (OHE) electrification works using a 25KV, 50Hz single-phase AC traction system as part of the ongoing redevelopment of the Bilaspur yard.

The scope includes yard remodeling, infrastructure modifications, yard expansion, special engineering designs for OHE installations, removal of structural infringements, and simplification of sectioning arrangements in accordance with the latest approved engineering standards and signaling integration plans. The contract is scheduled for completion within a period of twelve months and further strengthens BCPL Railway Infrastructure’s presence in India’s rapidly expanding railway electrification and modernization sector.

The Bilaspur yard serves as a critical operational hub within the South East Central Railway network, and the project is expected to support enhanced operational efficiency, improved train handling capacity and modernization of railway infrastructure. The work forms part of broader efforts to strengthen railway connectivity and increase network performance across key freight and passenger corridors.

Commenting on the development, Chairman Aparesh Nandi said the company continues to witness strong opportunities in railway infrastructure development across the country. He noted that the latest order reflects BCPL’s established expertise in delivering electrification projects and its long-standing contribution to strengthening India’s railway network.

The company remains optimistic about the continued flow of opportunities in areas such as railway electrification, engineering procurement and construction projects, track doubling and quadrupling, network upgrades and speed enhancement programs. With significant investments being made in railway infrastructure nationwide, BCPL believes the sector offers sustained growth prospects over the coming years.

For nearly three decades, BCPL Railway Infrastructure has specialized in the design, supply, erection and commissioning of traction overhead electrification systems. The company has built a strong reputation for executing complex railway projects across diverse geographical regions, including remote and strategically important locations.

Leadership at BCPL comprises experienced professionals from engineering, finance, and operations domains. The board of directors includes founders and independent members who guide strategic planning, project execution and governance. Financially, BCPL is categorized as a small-cap infrastructure stock, with a market presence that reflects steady growth in order books and revenue in recent years. Its share performance and financial ratios are tracked on Indian exchanges, and the company continues to compete for sizeable EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contracts in the rail sector.
