Bartronics India Limited (BIL) has moved from planning to execution in its agritech initiative, completing its first large-scale on-ground rollout in Maharashtra and preparing for expansion into Uttar Pradesh as part of a broader pan-India deployment. Over the past two weeks, the company conducted 10 field engagement programs across key agricultural districts in Maharashtra.
These sessions brought together a wide cross-section of the agricultural ecosystem, including farmers, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), cooperatives, traders, commission agents, logistics and warehousing providers, food processors, and rural service operators. Collectively, these networks provide direct and indirect access to several lakh farmers, with extended reach exceeding one million farmers through affiliated organizations and intermediaries. The outreach reflects Bartronics India’s platform-centric strategy, which aims to integrate farmers into a connected ecosystem encompassing market access, logistics, storage, and allied services, rather than addressing challenges in isolation.
Commenting on the rollout, Vidhya Sagar Reddy, Managing Director of Bartronics India Limited, said, “Our work in Maharashtra has focused on building a connected agritech ecosystem from the ground up. The strong participation from farmers and ecosystem partners validates our approach, and we are now extending this model to Uttar Pradesh and other regions as part of our nationwide strategy.”
The farmer groups engaged during the sessions represent a diverse range of crops, including onions, cashews, mangoes, wheat, jowar, and bajra, ensuring relevance across crop types and seasons. As part of the initiative, Ampivo AI—under its Memorandum of Understanding with Bartronics India—participated in the field programs and carried out a soft launch of its multilingual agritech application.
The platform is intended to serve as the digital backbone of the initiative, enabling farmer onboarding, ecosystem mapping, and marketplace functionality across multiple stakeholder categories. Ampivo AI is currently developing the underlying technology infrastructure, including the mobile app and marketplace framework, to support participation from individual farmers, FPOs, traders, logistics providers, and processors. The multilingual interface demonstrated during the sessions is designed to encourage adoption among local-language users, with onboarding already underway.
While Maharashtra represents the first phase of execution, the program is national in scope. Based on early traction and field insights, Bartronics India plans to begin the next phase of activation in Uttar Pradesh—where the company has an established operational presence—followed by a phased rollout across additional agricultural regions. This marks the company’s transition from pilot initiatives to full-scale, multi-layer agritech implementation aimed at building a scalable, farmer-focused digital platform across India.
