French luxury fashion house Balmain has completed the deployment of Centric PLM, the product lifecycle management solution from Centric Software, marking a significant milestone in its digital transformation strategy. The implementation was completed within seven months and remained on schedule and within budget, enabling the company to streamline product development and improve operational efficiency.

Founded in 1945 by Pierre Balmain, the Paris-based luxury brand is known for its heritage in haute couture and contemporary fashion, with collections spanning ready-to-wear, accessories, beauty and eyewear. As part of its broader operational transformation programme, Balmain sought to replace multiple legacy systems with a single integrated platform capable of supporting product development from concept through commercial launch.

The newly implemented Centric PLM platform now serves as the central repository for product information across Balmain’s ready-to-wear business. The company plans to extend the solution to its accessories division in the next phase of deployment. The transition to a unified digital platform has simplified product lifecycle management by eliminating fragmented systems and standardising workflows across teams. The solution enables improved collaboration between departments while enhancing data accuracy, reducing manual duplication and supporting faster decision-making throughout product development.

The implementation also forms part of Balmain’s broader initiative to improve operational consistency and strengthen data governance across the organisation. By redesigning bill of materials (BOM) templates and standardising product information, the company has established more efficient processes that support assortment planning, product development and collection management.

Commenting on the successful implementation, Timothée de Cenival, Group Chief Information Officer at Balmain, said selecting Centric Software as the company’s product lifecycle management partner had been instrumental in delivering the project successfully. He noted that the expertise of the implementation team helped address project challenges while establishing clearer performance metrics, more structured workflows and stronger user adoption across the organisation.

Balmain said the platform has improved visibility throughout the product development process while creating a single source of reliable information for design, merchandising, sourcing and production teams. The enhanced digital environment is expected to strengthen operational agility and support future business growth.

Fabrice Canonge, President and Chief Executive Officer of Centric Software, said the company is pleased to support Balmain’s efforts to modernise its product development operations. He added that the successful deployment reflects the close collaboration between the two organisations and provides a strong foundation for the next stages of Balmain’s digital transformation journey.

Centric Software provides enterprise solutions that help organisations manage product planning, design, sourcing, manufacturing, merchandising and retail operations across industries including fashion, luxury, footwear, cosmetics, home products and multi-category retail. The company’s technology is designed to improve collaboration, enhance visibility and support end-to-end product lifecycle management for global brands.
