The Atmanirbhar Bharat Utsav 2024, a celebration of self-reliance in India, is set to take place from January 3rd to 10th, 2024, at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Inaugurating the Ministry of MSME’s Pavilion in Hall no. 5, Minister of State (MSME) Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma highlighted the theme “PM Vishwakarma.” The event showcases enterprises from diverse sectors, including textiles, handloom, embroidery works, custom tailoring, handicrafts, gems & jewelry, leather footwear, games & toys, bamboo crafts, cane items, furniture, ceramics & pottery, food products, cosmetics, chemical products, mechanical items, and more.

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme, an initiative of the Ministry of MSME, offers comprehensive end-to-end support to traditional artisans and craftspeople, known as ‘Vishwakarmas.’ Stalls at the exhibition represent various states and union territories, covering a broad spectrum of economic sectors. This strategic alignment with the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, launched on September 17, 2023, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ensures a display of India’s diverse economic prowess. To enhance inclusivity, special consideration has been given to categories such as SC/STs, women, and Divyangs, with a significant allocation of stalls, constituting half of the total. This inclusive approach not only reflects the commitment to diversity but also promotes equal opportunities for all participants. Importantly, the exhibition is open to the public, providing free entry to foster widespread participation and engagement.
The PM Vishwakarma Scheme’s emphasis on supporting traditional artisans and craftspeople aligns with the broader vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, encouraging self-reliance and entrepreneurship. The participating enterprises encompass a rich tapestry of skills and craftsmanship, showcasing the cultural and economic vibrancy of India. The stalls at the exhibition serve as microcosms of the nation, each representing a unique blend of traditional artistry and modern innovation. Textiles and handloom exhibits reveal the intricate craftsmanship passed down through generations, while gems & jewelry stalls showcase India’s rich heritage in precious stones and metals. The presence of leather footwear, bamboo crafts, and ceramics & pottery exhibits reflects the versatility and adaptability of Indian artisans across various materials and mediums.
In addition to promoting traditional crafts, the event spotlights contemporary sectors such as mechanical items, food products, cosmetics, and chemical products, reflecting the dynamic and evolving nature of India’s entrepreneurial landscape. The diversity of enterprises on display mirrors the multifaceted nature of Atmanirbhar Bharat, where traditional skills coexist with modern aspirations. The Atmanirbhar Bharat Utsav 2024 serves as a platform for interaction, collaboration, and business networking. It provides a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs, visitors, and stakeholders to witness firsthand the richness of India’s cultural and economic heritage.
As the nation comes together to celebrate self-reliance, the Atmanirbhar Bharat Utsav 2024 symbolizes resilience, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit of the people. It demonstrates India’s journey towards self-sufficiency, where tradition meets innovation, and local enterprises can get an opportunity to make a global impact. The exhibition, with its diverse array of stalls and inclusive approach, reflects the essence of Atmanirbhar Bharat – a journey of empowerment, sustainability, and economic vitality.
