Atlas Copco, a global provider of compressed air and gas compression solutions, has launched the ZGH 100–200 VSD+, an industry-first standard oil-free rotary screw booster designed for PET blow-moulding applications, at Drinktec India 2026. The new solution extends rotary screw technology to high-pressure air applications of up to 30 bar, offering PET manufacturers an alternative approach to compressed air system design.

With India’s beverage industry expanding, manufacturers are increasingly prioritising production efficiency, product quality, water conservation and sustainability. Reliable compressed air and utility systems are essential across beverage manufacturing operations, including PET bottle production, packaging, pneumatic conveying, nitrogen generation and wastewater treatment.

Developments in bottle design and blow-moulding technology have also reduced operating pressure requirements on several PET production lines, creating opportunities for rotary screw boosters in applications traditionally served by piston technology. The ZGH 100–200 VSD+ boosts clean, dry air from 10 barg to 30 barg at the point of use. Conventional PET production facilities often depend on centralised high-pressure compression systems, with piston boosters installed in dedicated compressor rooms and compressed air distributed through extensive piping networks. The ZGH offers an alternative by enabling high-pressure compression close to the blow-moulding machine while allowing manufacturers to retain their existing medium-pressure compressor infrastructure.

Its compact design and low-noise operation support decentralised installation, helping manufacturers simplify plant layouts, reduce pressure losses across distribution networks and release valuable production space. By bringing high-pressure air generation closer to the point of consumption, the solution offers greater flexibility in configuring compressed air systems to suit individual production requirements.

Commenting on the launch, Bhavin Pandya, General Manager, Compressor Technique Customer Center, Atlas Copco India, said, “Atlas Copco focuses on developing the right compressor technology for each application. With the ZGH 100–200 VSD+, we are extending the benefits of rotary screw technology to PET blow-moulding applications requiring pressures of up to 30 bar. By enabling decentralised high-pressure compression, the solution gives manufacturers greater flexibility in plant design while helping simplify operations and optimise compressed air systems.”

At Drinktec India 2026, Atlas Copco is also showcasing technologies for beverage manufacturing, including carbon dioxide recovery and compression systems, on-site nitrogen generation and boosting solutions, and oil-free compressed air technologies. Its portfolio further includes blower solutions for applications such as pneumatic conveying and wastewater treatment. Through its range of compressed air and utility technologies, Atlas Copco continues to support beverage manufacturers with solutions focused on operational efficiency, reliable performance and sustainable production.
