Atlas Copco has unveiled the XB series, a new generation of cordless nut runners engineered to enhance efficiency and precision in modern manufacturing environments. The newly launched range is designed to help manufacturers strengthen assembly quality while supporting their shift toward digitally connected production systems.
The XB portfolio includes two all-electric tools tailored for different assembly requirements. The XCB model features a mechanical clutch system suited for standard tightening applications, while the XTB version incorporates a torque transducer designed for processes where tightening accuracy and traceability are critical.
The new cordless tools have been developed with ease of use and operational flexibility in mind. Once unpacked, operators simply insert the battery, set the required torque parameters and begin working. The interface is designed to present information clearly, enabling operators to quickly understand tool status and tightening results.
The Human Machine Interface built into the tools displays clear OK and NOK signals during operations. This immediate feedback helps operators maintain control over the tightening process and ensures consistent performance across assembly tasks.
The XCB tool is particularly suited for repetitive fastening operations where multiple joints require the same torque level. It delivers minimal reaction force during tightening and includes re-hit detection, helping maintain accuracy when tightening identical fasteners in sequence.
For applications involving varying torque requirements or differences in joint stiffness, the XTB tool offers greater flexibility. It supports multiple tightening programs while incorporating torque control and angle monitoring to maintain precision during assembly operations.
Both models are designed to support production environments that demand mobility and ease of access. Their cordless configuration allows operators to move freely between workstations and reach confined or complex assembly areas without the limitations associated with wired tools.
The XB range has also been designed with operator comfort in mind. The lightweight structure, ergonomic grip and balanced design help reduce fatigue during extended use. These design elements contribute to improved productivity while maintaining the accuracy required for modern manufacturing processes.
Chandrashekhar Pathak, General Manager for Industrial Technique at Atlas Copco (India) Pvt. Ltd., said the new tools reflect the company’s continued focus on developing advanced assembly solutions that improve productivity while supporting digital manufacturing initiatives.
According to Pathak, the XB range integrates precision engineering with digital capabilities to help manufacturers enhance product quality and operational performance. He noted that solutions such as these enable companies to streamline assembly operations while progressing toward more connected and sustainable manufacturing systems.
The growing adoption of smart manufacturing practices is increasing demand for assembly tools that combine reliability, digital connectivity and operator-friendly design. Manufacturers are increasingly seeking equipment that can deliver precise tightening results while supporting data-driven production management.
Atlas Copco’s new XB series is designed to meet these evolving requirements by providing both accuracy and flexibility for day-to-day assembly tasks. The cordless configuration supports efficient workflow across production lines, while integrated control features ensure consistent tightening performance.
By bringing together precision control, digital functionality and ergonomic design, the XB series offers manufacturers a practical solution for improving assembly efficiency while supporting the broader shift toward smart, connected production systems. Atlas Copco continues to expand its portfolio of industrial tools and solutions that help manufacturers improve productivity, maintain product quality and reduce operational complexity in increasingly automated production environments.
