Atlas Copco Group Opens Cutting-Edge Manufacturing Facility in Pune

Atlas Copco Group has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Talegaon, Pune, covering approximately 270,000 square feet. This advanced plant will produce air and gas compressors, including CNG (compressed natural gas), biogas, and hydrogen compressors, as well as air dryers, nitrogen and oxygen generators, and medical filtration systems. Announced in 2023, the launch underscores the Group’s commitment to delivering innovative, high-performance solutions tailored to the Indian market.

Built on Industry 4.0 principles, the facility integrates smart manufacturing and sustainability initiatives. Around 80% of its operational energy will be derived from a 1.3 MW rooftop solar installation and grid supply. Additional features include rainwater harvesting and advanced cooling systems to enhance efficiency.

With a strong emphasis on research and development, the facility is designed to support product innovation and rigorous testing. It holds ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 certifications, reflecting the company’s commitment to quality, safety, environmental sustainability, and energy management. Robust internal audits, quality management systems, and Six Sigma methodologies further ensure operational excellence.

Philippe Ernens, President of Compressor Technique Business Area, highlighted the significance of the new facility: “With cutting-edge technology in place, we can better meet local demand, reduce lead times, and expand our production capabilities.
