Atlanta Electricals Limited has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) worth ₹193.92 crore, including GST, from Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (APTRANSCO) for the supply of high-capacity auto transformers. Under the order, Atlanta Electricals will design, manufacture, test and supply 12 units of 160 MVA, 220/132 kV auto transformers. The order has been awarded against APTRANSCO’s Tender Specification No. PMM21-31/2026 (Lot-2).
The contract covers the complete supply of the transformers, including unloading, in line with the technical specifications and commercial conditions set out in the tender. The order strengthens Atlanta Electricals’ position in India’s power transmission equipment market and adds to its order book at a time when investments in transmission infrastructure are increasing to support rising electricity demand and the expansion of the power network.
Niral Patel, Chairman and Managing Director, Atlanta Electricals Limited, said the LOI from APTRANSCO reflects the confidence of state transmission utilities in the company’s manufacturing and execution capabilities. He said the order for 12 high-capacity auto transformers strengthens Atlanta Electricals’ presence in the transmission segment and demonstrates its ability to supply equipment for critical power infrastructure. The company, he added, remains focused on timely execution and supporting the development of India’s transmission network.
The 160 MVA, 220/132 kV auto transformers will form part of APTRANSCO’s transmission infrastructure. Such equipment is used to transfer electrical power between different voltage levels and plays an important role in the efficient movement of electricity across transmission networks.
The new order further expands Atlanta Electricals’ participation in large-scale transmission projects and reinforces its manufacturing capabilities in high-capacity transformer systems. Atlanta Electricals manufactures and supplies a broad range of power transformers, with capacities ranging from 5 MVA/11 kV to 500 MVA/765 kV. Its portfolio includes auto transformers, inverter duty transformers, furnace transformers, generator transformers and special-duty transformers.
The company operates five manufacturing facilities across Gujarat and Karnataka and has more than 30 years of experience in the transformer industry. As of March 31, 2026, Atlanta Electricals had supplied more than 4,800 transformers with a combined capacity exceeding 1,16,000 MVA across India.
The company serves the power transmission and distribution sector and provides transformer solutions for a range of critical infrastructure applications. The APTRANSCO order adds to Atlanta Electricals’ portfolio of high-capacity transformer projects and is expected to contribute to its continued expansion in the transmission equipment segment.
With the Indian power sector undergoing continued investment in transmission capacity, grid strengthening and infrastructure expansion, the company said it remains focused on manufacturing equipment that supports the reliability and development of the country’s electricity network.
