AMPO POYAM VALVES has completed the supply of specialised forged gate valves for BASF’s large-scale CR Cluster project, part of the BASF (Guangdong) Integrated Project in Zhanjiang, China. These valves will be installed in the ethylene unit, a central component of this major petrochemical complex. BASF serves as the project owner, while HQC — a long-term collaborator of AMPO — is the EPC contractor.

This project marks an important achievement for AMPO, supporting BASF’s first fully owned petrochemical facility in China. The delivered equipment consists of F91 forged gate valves equipped with pneumatic and electric actuators, including 24”-1500# pressure-seal forged gate valves—a clear testament to AMPO’s expertise in advanced materials, large-dimension manufacturing, and high-pressure applications.

The BASF Guangdong Integrated Project represents one of the company’s most significant global investments, with an estimated budget of around USD 10 billion. The facility includes a steam cracker and multiple downstream units forming the core of the Verbund site. Production is expected to begin by the end of 2025. Once fully operational, the complex will be BASF’s third-largest site worldwide and its first wholly foreign-owned petrochemical plant in China. Designed with a focus on smart manufacturing, the project incorporates digital technologies, automation, renewable energy, and emissions-reduction systems.

AMPO POYAM VALVES is proud to contribute to this landmark development, which will strengthen BASF’s presence across the Asian market and support industries such as automotive, construction, and electronics. This milestone further reinforces AMPO’s standing as a global supplier of highly engineered valve solutions for demanding, high-pressure environments.
