Greaves Electric Mobility has strengthened its position in India’s fast-growing electric mobility market after its Ampere Magnus G Max received the ‘Family Scooter of the Year’ title at the Times Drive Auto Summit and Awards 2026. The recognition highlights the growing acceptance of practical and affordable electric two-wheelers designed specifically for everyday Indian commuting needs.
The award-winning Ampere Magnus G Max was introduced earlier this year as the latest addition to the company’s Magnus electric scooter portfolio. Positioned as a family-oriented electric mobility solution, the scooter combines extended range, everyday practicality, and safety-focused engineering aimed at urban and semi-urban consumers.
Greaves Electric Mobility said the recognition reflects increasing customer demand for dependable electric scooters that deliver both usability and value. The company has focused on creating products suited to real-world road conditions and daily commuting requirements rather than targeting only premium lifestyle segments.
The Magnus G Max features a certified riding range of more than 142 kilometres and is powered by a 3 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery. The use of LFP battery chemistry is intended to improve durability, thermal stability, and long-term operational safety. The battery system is supported by a five-year or 75,000-kilometre warranty, among the stronger warranty offerings in the segment.
The scooter has been developed on a dual-frame chassis designed to provide improved structural stability and durability across varied road conditions. Additional practical features include a 33-litre under-seat storage compartment, making it suitable for daily household and commuting requirements.
Vikas Singh, Managing Director of Greaves Electric Mobility, said the recognition validates the company’s focus on building electric mobility solutions for mainstream Indian consumers. He noted that the Magnus G Max was designed around practicality, reliability, and affordability, with an emphasis on meeting the needs of Indian families seeking accessible electric transportation options. Mr Singh added that customer response to the product reinforced the company’s belief that adoption of electric mobility would accelerate when products are aligned closely with everyday consumer expectations.
The Magnus G Max supports multiple riding modes including Eco, City, and Reverse modes, while delivering a top speed of up to 65 kmph for urban commuting applications. The scooter also includes hydraulic telescopic front suspension, dual rear shock absorbers, LED lighting, a 3.5-inch LCD digital display, and USB charging support. To enhance visual appeal, the vehicle is offered in dual-tone colour options including Matcha Green, Monsoon Blue, and Cinnamon Copper, complemented by gold-finish badging and contemporary styling elements.
Greaves Electric Mobility currently operates manufacturing facilities in Hyderabad, Noida, and Ranipet and supports its customer network through more than 400 dealer touchpoints across India. The company serves both electric two-wheeler and three-wheeler segments and has over 17 years of experience in electric vehicle development and manufacturing.
Parent company Greaves Cotton Limited, with a legacy spanning over 165 years, has evolved from an engineering and diesel engine manufacturer into a diversified mobility and clean transportation solutions provider. Through its businesses in engineering, retail, finance, technology, and electric mobility, the company continues to expand its footprint in India’s evolving sustainable transportation ecosystem.
