Amberjack Capital Partners has completed the acquisition of PMV Automation from Flowserve Corporation, marking the start of a new phase for the valve automation business as an independent company. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, PMV Automation also has operations in Solna, Sweden. The company provides valve automation products including control valve positioners, limit switches and related automation solutions to process industries across global markets.
PMV’s products are used in a range of industries, including water and wastewater, power, pulp and paper, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, chemicals and refining. The company has built a strong customer base through its focus on automation products used in demanding industrial applications.
Amberjack Capital, a Houston-based private equity firm, completed the transaction in partnership with industry executives Joseph Jobe and Micah Floyd. Jobe and Floyd will lead PMV Automation as the company moves forward as an independent business. The new ownership structure is expected to allow PMV to focus on expanding its product portfolio, strengthening relationships with distributors and original equipment manufacturers, and pursuing new opportunities across its established markets.
Jason Turowsky, Managing Partner of Amberjack Capital, said PMV fits the firm’s investment approach because of its established brand, mission-critical products, strong customer relationships, experienced employees and opportunities for further growth. Joseph Jobe said PMV has developed a strong reputation over several decades by providing reliable products for demanding process industries. He said the company’s new independent structure, supported by Amberjack, will provide greater flexibility to invest in employees, products and channel partners.
Micah Floyd said PMV’s people and products will remain central to the company’s strategy. He added that PMV will continue to focus on engineering expertise and product reliability while developing the commercial and operational capabilities required to compete as an independent company.
The acquisition also marks a change in Flowserve’s portfolio as the company continues to focus on its core businesses. Chika Kekeocha, Vice President of Automation and Controls at Flowserve, said the company was pleased to see PMV begin its next phase with Amberjack, which is committed to supporting the business and its employees.
As an independent company, PMV plans to build on its existing brand, global installed base and established relationships across the process industries. The company will focus on product development, customer service and channel expansion while pursuing opportunities in markets where demand for reliable valve automation solutions continues to grow.
With operations in the United States and Sweden, PMV is positioned to serve customers across international markets. The company’s product portfolio and industry experience provide a foundation for its next phase of growth under Amberjack Capital’s ownership.
