ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has strengthened its value-added portfolio with the launch of AM/NS Vibrance and AM/NS Optima—two premium branded steel offerings developed to address the evolving design and performance requirements of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the appliance and industrial manufacturing sectors. As manufacturers increasingly seek steel that delivers consistent surface quality, precise tolerances, and dependable large-scale performance,

AM/NS India is broadening its domestic portfolio with advanced coated solutions that reduce import dependence while meeting international quality standards. These additions join the company’s existing value-added range, which includes Optigal®, Magnelis®, Optigal® Prime and Optigal® Pinnacle—products recognised for durability, consistency, and operational efficiency across applications.

India’s consumer durables market, projected to become the world’s fourth-largest by FY27, continues to shift toward premium offerings, driven by demand for appliances that combine aesthetics with performance. Annual coated steel demand in India, currently estimated at 11.1 million tonnes, is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 8–10 percent in the coming years.

Within the appliance segment, coated steel consumption is expanding at roughly 10 percent annually, supported by urbanisation, rising aspirations, policy support such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, and import substitution initiatives. Coated steel demand in industrial applications is forecast to grow at an 8–12 percent CAGR through 2030, backed by government-led manufacturing initiatives, localisation efforts, and expansion across automotive, electronics, and engineering industries. Together, the appliance and industrial segments underline the importance of coated steel in India’s manufacturing growth and highlight the role of advanced steel solutions in strengthening domestic capabilities.

Ranjan Dhar, Director and Vice President – Sales & Marketing, AM/NS India, said the introduction of AM/NS Vibrance and AM/NS Optima reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting OEMs with high-performance, branded steel solutions that enhance productivity, quality, and long-term value. He added that expanding access to advanced steel grades within India supports national manufacturing goals while enabling customers to build competitive, differentiated products.

AM/NS Vibrance is a high-grade colour-coated steel designed for appliance manufacturers seeking strength, surface consistency, and refined aesthetics. With appliances increasingly integrated into modern interior spaces, the material offers controlled gloss levels, uniform colour, and durable finishes supported by advanced coating processes. It is suitable for applications such as refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, and water dispensers.

AM/NS Optima is a premium True Zero-Spangle galvanised steel engineered to deliver enhanced surface uniformity compared to conventional galvanised products. Built on precision-controlled substrates with consistent thickness and surface quality, it ensures predictable bending, stable performance across production runs, and clean visual finishes. The product is suited for AC outdoor units, panels, and cleanroom installations.

ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel are joint venture partners in ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, a leading integrated flat carbon steel producer in the country. The company has a crude steel capacity of 9 million tonnes per annum, advanced downstream facilities, and a pellet production capacity of 20 million tonnes, serving diverse sectors with a broad portfolio of flat and value-added steel products.
