AJAX Engineering, one of India’s foremost providers of concreting equipment, introduced UDAAN, a new compact and mobile concrete mixing solution, at EXCON 2025. With this launch, the company is creating a fresh segment in the market and opening wider access to mechanised concreting for India’s rapidly expanding construction sector.
Despite India’s still-limited adoption of mechanised concreting, UDAAN strengthens AJAX’s vision of driving greater usage among emerging contractors and local builders—an essential step toward supporting national infrastructure development and the long-term aspirations of Viksit Bharat 2047. Designed and manufactured domestically, UDAAN comes equipped with a 0.8 cu.m drum, a compact and agile build, and a CEV Stage V–compliant engine. These features make it adaptable to varied site environments and future regulatory needs. By enabling a shift from manual, labour-heavy construction practices to efficient, mechanised workflows, UDAAN addresses labour scarcity while enabling smaller contractors to embrace scalable, repeatable concrete production.
Commenting on the launch, Shubhabrata Saha, MD & CEO of AJAX Engineering, said “For more than thirty years, AJAX has been instrumental in shaping India’s concreting landscape—from pioneering self-loading concrete mixers to advancing precision-driven technologies such as our patented Load-Cell system. The demand for safer, quicker and more dependable concreting solutions continues to grow. UDAAN allows us to extend mechanised concreting into newer markets while staying true to our tradition of engineering quality, service dependability and innovation.”
Beyond UDAAN, AJAX presented an extensive lineup of equipment at EXCON 2025, including its SLCM range, patented Self-propelled Boom Pump, Batching Plants, Electric Concrete Pumps and India’s first locally developed 3D Concrete Printer, capable of constructing 350 sq. m of built-up space within just three days. The showcase also featured the company’s indigenous Slip Form Paver—recently exported to Russia and several African countries—underscoring AJAX’s commitment to “Make in India, Made for the World.”
A key highlight was AJAX’s patented Load-Cell technology, which ensures superior concrete measurement accuracy, setting industry benchmarks for consistency and quality. This focus on precision reflects the organisation’s belief that reliability and customer confidence stem from unwavering attention to quality at every stage—from design and production to service delivery. AJAX works closely with supplier partners to uphold these standards, ensuring optimum performance, fewer breakdowns and long-term customer trust.
With four advanced manufacturing facilities and another in the pipeline, AJAX continues to invest significantly in R&D and next-generation product development. This technological focus is complemented by workforce capability building through the AJAX School of Concrete, which equips operators and technicians with the latest skillsets needed to maximise the value of modern equipment.
