Acer Introduces New 5G and Wi-Fi 7 Networking Devices

manufacturing-news

Acer has expanded its connectivity portfolio with the introduction of four new networking products designed to support faster, more reliable internet access across a wide range of use cases, from home entertainment and gaming to remote work and travel. The new lineup includes the Predator Connect X7S 5G CPE, the Acer Connect Ovia T360 Wi-Fi 7 dual-band mesh router, the Acer Connect Ovia T520 Wi-Fi 7 tri-band mesh router, and the Acer Connect M4D 5G Mobile Wi-Fi. Together, these devices bring 5G and Wi-Fi 7 technologies to users who need consistent performance, flexible deployment, and secure connectivity in both fixed and mobile environments.

At the high-performance end of the range, the Predator Connect X7S 5G CPE is built for users with demanding networking needs, particularly gamers and households that rely heavily on streaming and cloud-based services. It supports 5G connectivity with download speeds of up to 4.67 Gbps, providing a practical alternative in locations where fiber or other wired broadband options may be limited or unavailable.

The device features tri-band Wi-Fi 7 support across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands, helping maintain low latency and stable connections throughout the home. With Multi-Link Operation and Wi-Fi 7 speeds reaching up to 5,764 Mbps, traffic can be balanced across multiple bands to improve reliability when numerous devices are connected at the same time.

Hybrid Quality of Service, compatible with the Intel® Killer™ Prioritization Engine, helps manage bandwidth for applications that are sensitive to delays or require sustained throughput, such as online games, video streaming, and cloud services. The X7S supports Nano-SIM-based 5G and 4G LTE, uses multiple antennas to improve signal reception, and offers the option to switch to a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet WAN connection as a backup to help ensure uninterrupted connectivity.

For homes and small offices that need broader wireless coverage, Acer has introduced the Connect Ovia T360 and T520 Wi-Fi 7 mesh routers. The Ovia T360 is a dual-band model operating on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, with each node covering up to 90 meters, making it well suited for apartments and smaller living spaces.

The Ovia T520 adds a 6 GHz band to deliver tri-band Wi-Fi 7 performance, extending coverage to up to 110 meters per node and supporting speeds of up to 5,764 Mbps. This makes it a better fit for larger homes or environments with a high number of connected devices and heavier workloads.

Both systems are designed to reduce dead zones and provide more consistent connectivity from room to room. They support Wi-Fi 7 features such as Multi-Link Operation to improve speed and responsiveness, include WAN and LAN ports for wired connections to devices like smart TVs and desktop PCs, and allow users to add extra nodes as needed to expand coverage, with automatic switching to support smooth roaming throughout the space.

For users who need internet access while traveling or working away from home, the Acer Connect M4D 5G Mobile Wi-Fi offers a compact and portable solution. It can share a mobile connection with up to 16 devices simultaneously using dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and provides up to 15 hours of typical battery life.

The device supports Nano-SIM, eSIM, and Virtual SIM, allowing access to 5G networks across different operators and regions, with the ability to store multiple eSIM profiles and switch between them when traveling. It can also operate in WISP mode by connecting to an existing Wi-Fi network and redistributing that connection.

USB tethering is supported across major operating systems, and a bundled docking station enables the M4D to function as a small home or office router with a wired LAN port and support for 5G NR to LAN or WAN operation. Security features include WPA2 and WPA3 encryption, firewall protection, SIM and screen locks, VPN support, and automatic over-the-air updates.

All of the new devices can be managed through the Acer Connect mobile app, which allows users to handle setup, monitor connected devices, manage mesh networks, and configure guest access. Security features across the lineup include WPA3 encryption, VPN support, parental controls, and firewall options to help protect networks and connected devices.
