Aberlink Ltd, the UK’s largest independent manufacturer of coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), has strengthened its manufacturing capabilities with the installation of two advanced DN Solutions machine tools supplied by Mills CNC. The investment includes a DNM 6700XL three-axis vertical machining centre and a Lynx 2100LSYB multi-tasking lathe. Installed at Aberlink’s upgraded Stroud machine shop in March 2025, the machines mark the first DN Solutions equipment acquired in the company’s 33-year history.
The new systems are already producing precision components for Aberlink’s manual and CNC-controlled CMMs, including bridge beams, rails, air bearings, racks, housings, and plates. Components are machined in small batches from aluminum alloys, steel, brass, and engineering plastics to tight tolerances and high surface finish standards.
The DNM 6700XL replaces an older machining center, delivering faster processing speeds, higher torque, and improved productivity for large aluminum extrusions. Meanwhile, the Lynx 2100LSYB enhances turning capabilities with sub-spindle, Y-axis, and driven tooling functionality, reducing cycle times and eliminating previous bottlenecks.
