Schmersal Unveils Innovative DHS Door Handle System at Hannover Messe

Hannover Messe 2024, the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology, is set to open its doors from April 22 to 26, showcasing the latest innovations and trends. Schmersal will launch its innovative DHS door handle system at this prestigious event, a cutting-edge solution that integrates door handling with machine status indication through colour signals. Schmersal, renowned for its expertise in industrial safety solutions, continues to develop products that enhance operational efficiency and safety in industrial environments.

Schmersal is excited to introduce its groundbreaking DHS door handle system at the upcoming Hannover Messe 2024 in a significant industrial safety and efficiency innovation. This cutting-edge product marries the robustness of a traditional door handle with advanced illumination features, enabling the display of machine statuses directly on the handle through colour signals. Designed for universal application, the DHS door handle system is compatible with the AZM40 solenoid interlock and safety sensors from the RSS36 and RSS260 series. It also serves as a versatile stand-alone solution.

The DHS system revolutionizes the way machine conditions are communicated, utilizing seven different colors across the handle’s surface to signal various statuses. This innovation allows operators to control and customize the color displays according to specific machine states, enhancing clarity and immediacy in monitoring. Furthermore, the system includes a push button, customizable with colored caps, which can perform functions such as reset or requesting to open a guard door, tailored to meet unique customer needs.

One of the key advantages of the DHS door handle system is its integration capability, eliminating the necessity for separate door handles and indicator lamps within a machine’s door system. Engineered for seamless integration into 40 mm profile systems, this product simplifies installation and optimizes space utilization. Additionally, the DHS family introduces the BDF40 control panel, featuring a sleek design that complements the AZM40 solenoid interlock perfectly. Available in versions with or without an emergency stop function, the control panel offers interchangeable button caps for both illuminated and unilluminated pushbuttons, providing further customization options.

Equipped with a 12-pin M12 connector, the BDF40 control panel ensures swift and secure installation, whether integrated with the DHS door handle and AZM40 solenoid interlock or as an independent control panel. An optional MS assembly kit is available for those looking to conceal connections and safeguard against tampering. Schmersal invites attendees of Hannover Messe 2024 to visit their stand (D09, Hall 09) from April 22 to 26, to experience firsthand the innovative DHS door handle system and discover how it can transform safety and efficiency in industrial settings. This launch underscores Schmersal’s commitment to pioneering solutions that enhance both the functionality and safety of industrial machinery.
