SiLC Technologies, Inc has announced the launch of Eyeonic® Trace Ultra, the next-generation laser line scanner in its Eyeonic product family, designed to deliver advanced precision for industrial automation and inspection applications. Eyeonic Trace Ultra introduces a significant leap in performance, offering 300% improved accuracy over its predecessor and achieving 100-micron range precision—equivalent to the thickness of a human hair. The system retains the compact design and ease of deployment of the original Eyeonic Trace while delivering enhanced capabilities for demanding environments.

Built for industrial use, the scanner is Class 1 eye-safe, immune to cross talk, and capable of operating in all lighting conditions. With a working range of up to five meters, it enables accurate measurement and inspection of both small components and large-scale objects.

Mehdi Asghari, CEO of SiLC Technologies, stated that while the original Eyeonic Trace saw strong adoption across industries, certain applications required higher precision. He noted that Trace Ultra addresses this need while maintaining the performance and flexibility that made the earlier version successful.

The enhanced precision and high scan rate enable manufacturers to automate inspection processes that traditionally relied on manual measurement. In automotive manufacturing, for example, Trace Ultra can detect minute defects such as scratches, dents, and alignment variations in real time as parts move along assembly lines. This reduces the need for manual inspection and improves overall quality control.

The system’s wide field of view and long-range capability also allow for accurate measurement of large objects, such as full vehicle frames, supporting more efficient production workflows. Fully backward compatible with existing Eyeonic Trace systems, Trace Ultra allows customers to upgrade seamlessly without major system changes. It integrates easily into current setups, preserving existing investments while unlocking new capabilities. SiLC is showcasing the new system at MODEX 2026 in Atlanta, with evaluation units available immediately.
